My Top 40 - 05/07/2017

Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson retake #1, Halsey and The Chainsmokers return to the top 10.

Zara Larsson and Clean Bandit return to the top spot with "Symphony", which automatically becomes their longest run at #1 with two weeks. They both spent a single week at #1, with "Lush Life" for Larsson and "Rockabye" for Clean Bandit. "Rockabye" eventually went on to spent 20 consecutive weeks at #1. "Symphony" recovers five spots this week, and aside from it's debut week at #15 it has never left top 10.

Paramore continues their strong run with "Hard Times". After a #3 debut, the track pushes to #2 this week. Also showing impressive staying power, Lady Gaga follows two weeks at #4 with a move to the top 3, for her latest single "The Cure". They sidetrack the last two #1 hits, "Believer" and "It Ain't Me", which both drop three spots to #4 and #5. "The Cure" also outpeaks "Million Reasons" (#4) to become Gaga's highest ranking hit (this chart started after the release of some of her biggest hits, like "Bad Romance", "Poker Face" and "Just Dance", which based on points totals would have reached #1 for multiple weeks).

Reaching a new peak, Zedd and Alessia Cara get to #6 with "Stay". It matches "Scars to Your Beautiful" to rank as Alessia's highest peaking song to date.

Halsey returns to the top 10 with "Now Or Never" at #7. It outpeaks "Colors" (#8) to become her highest peaking song as a lead artist. She of course reached #1 last year featured on The Chainsmokers' "Closer".

Starley stays at #8 with "Call On Me". It's the song's highest rank to date. On it's way down, Jax Jones and Raye's "You Don't Know Me" drops four spots to #9. It reached #2 a few weeks ago.

The aforementioned Chainsmokers close top 10 with Memories...Do Not Open album track "Bloodstream". The song is this week's highest debut, despite strong competition from Shakira's follow-up to #2-peaking "Chantaje", "Me Enamoré" (#15).
