My Top 50 - 06/09/2019

June 9, 2019 | 50 songs

Katy Perry moves up to #1, earns first solo chart-topper.

After last week's #4 debut, "Never Really Over" by Katy Perry easily becomes her third chart-topper with the best week of the year in terms of points so far. The track follows "Chained to the Rhythm" and "Feels", as Katy's biggest hits yet pre-date the chart's birth in January 2015. In fact, two of her older songs chart this week: "Teenage Dream",  which recently reclaimed it's #5 spot on the all time chart enters for the first time at #33, while "Dark Horse" earns a seventh week on the tally (it has peaked at #16, well after it's initial release).

Two more Katy Perry appearances:  Her remix of Daddy Yankee's "Con Calma" moves up ten spots to #18, while "Never Really Over" producer Zedd's "365", which peaked at #15 this year, is this week's Greatest Gainer by zooming up 41-24 on it's 17th week.

That doesn't mean that last week's champion didn't put up a fight for the top spot. "bad guy" posts it's best week yet in terms of points, after seven non-consecutive weeks at #1. Billie EIlish ranks two more songs in the top five, as "bellyache" slides one to #3 and "bury a friend" recovers a spot to #5.

Khalid is this week's sole male entry in the top 5 as "Talk" continues zooming up, now at #4. "Better" slides one from it's #25 peak to #26.

Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie slide to #6 with their chart-topper "ME!". Urie's "Hey Look Ma, I Made It" moves up five spots to #45. Mabel's first top ten hit follows as it moves up to a new #7 peak. Shawn Mendes' #3 hit "If I Can't Have You" slides three to #8, followed by chart-topper "Sunflower", which ranks #9 on it's 25th week.

Halsey closes top 10 with "Nightmare", which enters the region for the first time on it's fourth week. The song follows four-week #1 "Without Me" (#36 on it's 36th week).

Rosalía earns her first two appearances on the chart courtesy of "Con Altura" which debuts at #12 (the track also features J Balvin and El Guincho), and "Aute Cuture" at #35. Ed Sheeran, Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock enter top 15 with "Cross Me", while Carly Rae Jepsen ranks #16 with "Cut to the Feeling". Jonas Brothers' "Sucker" is steady at #13 after reaching #12, but "Cool" moves up ten spots to #19 on it's third week.
