My Top 50 - 07/02/2017

"Feels" dethrones "Wild Thoughts" on another close race for #1.

For the second week in a row, two all star team-ups find themselves fighting for #1, but this time swapping places. Calvin Harris earns his third #1 hit with "Feels", featuring Katy Perry (her second #1 here following "Chained to the Rhythm"), Pharrell Williams (first chart topper) and Big Sean (first #1 hit as well).

The difference in points between "Wild Thoughts" and "Feels" is less than 15% this week. Still "Wild Thoughts" stays relatively strong at #2 for DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. More news for DJ Khaled coming next...

Dua Lipa's "New Rules" and Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj's "Swish Swish" stay locked at #3 and #4, unable to match up to the relatively strong top two. That said, "Rules" is quickly catching up in points with other Dua Lipa tracks that peaked higher like "Lost In Your Light" or have had longer chart runs like "Scared to be Lonely".

Imagine Dragons "Whatever It Takes" jumps two spots and earns the band their second top 5 hit, following #1 hit "Believer" (#10 this week). Another band follows, as Paramore's #1 hit "Hard Times" drops one to #6.

Lorde's Melodrama continues it's strong performance, with second single "Perfect Places" jumping to #7 on it's third week. "Liability" and "Sober" crack the top 20 for the first time, at #15 and #19 respectively, while "The Louvre" jumps sixteen spots to #28 earning Greatest Gainer honors. Former #2 hit "Green Light" recovers eight spots to #29 on it's 18th week, proving that it's relatively short run inside the top 10 wasn't the end, and last but not least, "Homemade Dynamite" debuts at #50.

Two singer-songwriters fill the rest of the top 10: Halsey finds herself on the way up with "Strangers" featuring Lauren Jauregui at #8 while former #1 "Castle on the Hill" is Ed Sheeran's highest ranking song this week at #9. Should "Strangers" peak above #6, it would best "Now Or Never" (#27 this week) as Halsey's highest peaking song as a lead.

Below top 10, Katy Perry and Migos stand still at their #11 peak with "Bon Appétit", but just below comes strong competition for a top 10 peak: "I'm The One" jumps eight spots for DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, while French Montana and Swae Lee make a strong debut at #13 with "Unforgettable". Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" also moves up to #21, it's highest rank to date. The track follows two #1 hits and #2-peaking "Galway Girl".

Greatest Gainer:

Lorde - "The Louvre" (moves up 44-28 this week).

Dropping this week:

Nicki Minaj ft. Drake, Lil Wayne – “Truffle Butter” (#22 peak, 4 weeks on the chart)
Katy Perry – “Walking On Air” (#50 peak, 1 week on the chart)
Little Mix ft. Machine Gun Kelly – “No More Sad Songs” (#7 peak, 11 weeks on the chart)
Dua Lipa – “Thinking 'Bout You” (#38 peak, 4 weeks on the chart)
