My Top 50 - 08/13/2017

August 13, 2017 | 50 songs

"New Rules" ties "Symphony", Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez, Kesha and Imagine Dragons move up.

Dua Lipa's "New Rules" spends a fourth consecutive week at #1. It ties Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson's "Symphony" (down to #42 on it's 22nd week) for longest reign of 2017 so far. "Rules" has managed to keep the top spot for a consecutive month, while "Symphony" first spent a week at the summit in March and returned there for three straight weeks in May. "Rules" also moves ahead of "Be The One" (stable at #23 this week) to become Dua's longest reigning #1.

As a consequence, Calvin Harris, Katy Perry, Pharrell and Big Sean stay at #2 for a fifth consecutive week (and seven weeks total). The track did manage to spend two weeks at the top spot but a longer reign has been prevented by "Rules" and "Wild Thoughts". That DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller track stays at #5 this week.

The only movement on the top five is between Charlie Puth and French Montana, as "Attention" reaches a new #3 peak by swapping spots with "Unforgettable" at #4. Lorde's "Perfect Places" and Liam Payne's "Strip that Down" are also unchanged at #6 and #7.

Rihanna's "Desperado" continues moving up, now at #8. It holds off Selena Gomez's "Fetish" which jumps into the top 10 for the first time at #9. It follows #6 hit "Bad Liar". Macklemore closes the top 10 with "Glorious" down two spots from it's #8 peak.

Just below Alessia Cara's version of "How Far I'll Go" moves up to #11, while Kesha's "Praying" corrects a downward trend by jumping to #12, a new peak, ahead of her album release this week. Imagine Dragons' "Thunder" jumps to #16, earning Greatest Gainer honors this week. Portugal. The Man also earns their first chart entry with "Feel It Still" debuting at #18, the highest of nine new chart entries this week.
