It's chart day again! Welcome to the ajmkv charts.~
This week, Hyo, Raiden, and Coogie's SM Station collab track "Think About Me" dethrones GFriend's "Mago" after six weeks at #1. This is Hyo's (and Raiden's and Coogie's) first solo #1 song, and second overall including her #1 as a part of Girls' Generation, "Genie". Meanwhile, "Mago" falls to #2 in its ninth week. Twice's "I Can't Stop Me" climbs to #3, and becomes their sixth Top 3 hit. Kylie Minogue sees her first Top 10 AND Top 5 single since "All The Lovers" over a decade ago, with "Real Groove" climbing to #5. This is the first song from Kylie's monster "Disco" album (which remains at #1 on the album charts for a tenth week!) to reach the Top 10. "Real Groove" is heavily aided by its Studio 2054 remix, which features Dua Lipa in her first ever Top 5 appearance. A couple spots underneath at #7, Elena Ionescu charts her first solo Top 10 single with "Bate Inima", featuring Giani Kirita; this is the first time Elena has been in the Top 10 since her work with Mandinga.
Elsewhere, Feli's "Vântul Bate" climbs to a new peak of #12, continuing Feli's frustrating trend of juuuuust missing out on the Top 10 with her singles from "Feli Din Poveste". "Vântul Bate" is the fourth single from the album to peak at either #11 or #12! Sofía Reyes, Aly & AJ, and Paty Cantú also reach new peaks with "Échalo Pa' Ca" (#22), "Potential Breakup Song" (#24), and "Llévame Contigo" (#28) respectively. There are three new entries this week: folk group Jubal debuts at #33 with "Chardonnay", indie K-Pop singer HEYDAY debuts at #35 with the delicate "A Light Of A Dream", and the Asproiu remix of Mira's "Cineva" launches the song back into the Top 50, landing at #36. Four songs reach the 10-week point this week: Kota's "How Much More Pain", Nature's "Girls", Lora's "Daca Dragostea", and Cleopatra Stratan's "Zunea Zunea".
Finally, Lora's "Sentimentul" achieves a glittering milestone as it spends its 52nd consecutive week, a whole year, in the Top 50. After having clinched the Song Of The Year of 2020 title with no competition, it joins a very select group of songs to achieve this milestone and adds another badge to its impressive and record-shattering collection. Congrats, Lora!
Over on the albums chart, Kylie's "Disco" remains at #1 for a tenth week, leaving its eternal runner-up, Paty Cantú's "La Mexicana", at #2, also for a tenth consecutive week. Will Paty see her album go to #1? Probably not, given the stiff competition creeping up on her, but 10 weeks at #2 is also a great, if frustrating, achievement. Hot on their heels, Jubal's 2019 album "County Ball" debuts at #3.
