It's the eighth week of 2021 and a new ajmkv chart is here! Shall we dive into it?

Alexandra Ungureanu has motive to celebrate as "Daca N-am Fi Impreuna" finally climbs to #1 and becomes her first ever song to hit the top of the chart. Congrats to our favorite classy bob-cut lady! Right after her (but very behind in plays) is our favorite cursed Romanian diva, Feli, whose latest single "Bade, Tu Esti Pui De Drac" breaks her #11/#12-peaking curse but sadly falls to her other curse. Feli, as successful as she is on my charts (and she's a complete powerhouse on the album charts), hasn't had a #1 single in three years, which is a damn shame. I'm not sure if "Bade" will break this unfortunate streak, but I'm hoping her day will come once again! Behind Feli, last week's Top 2—Antonia's "Taifun" and Elena Ionescu and Giani Kirita's "Bate Inima"—fall two spots each. At #5, GFriend's Mago creeps back into the Top 5, and at #6, Hyo, Raiden, and Coogie's "Think About Me" climbs back into the Top 10 and reaches the 10-week mark. Lower down in the Top 10, Amna and Robert Toma have yet ANOTHER collaboration become a hit as their new "Adorm Cu Amintirea Ta" debuts at #7, becoming Amna's 21st Top 10 hit (of which now 4 are with Robert Toma; a fifth collab between the pair, "Cine Pe Cine", peaked at #20 and is at #31 this week). When is the collab album coming out, hmm? At #9, Refund Sisters (Uhm Jung Hwa, Hwasa, Lee Hyori, and Jessie) celebrate their first Top 10 hit (both as a group and individually!) with "Don't Touch Me" climbing to #9. It also reaches the 10-week mark this week!

There are three new entries this week: Soré and DJ Sava have a hot new collaboration track, "I'm Gonna Miss You", that opens at #28; Melanie C's fabulous "Into You" debuts at #36; and Liviu Teodorescu and Jo's "Fluturii" enters at #45, becoming the 15th charted hit for each of them. Four other songs re-peak this week: Sunny Hill's heartbreaking "Break Up With You Every Night" climbs to #11 (a frustrating position which will hopefully not be its final peak); Mira inches closer to another Top 20 hit as "Arctic" shoots to #22; Inna's "You And I" continues its ascent, reaching #29 this week; and Yubin's smash "Perfume" moves up to #35.

Aside from the aforementioned "Think About Me" and "Don't Touch Me" (I chuckled at these contrasting titles), one other song reaches the 10-week mark: Oana Radu's latest hit, "Tu Tu". Oana Radu is another major player on my charts—she even nabbed the Song of the Year in 2016—that bafflingly hasn't had a #1 in years (5! to be exact), but her songs consistently reach the Top 10 and last for ten weeks or more, so hopefully she will also have another long-overdue #1 eventually. Will 2021 be her year? Remains to be seen...

On the albums chart there are no major changes, and the #1 shuffle between Kylie Minogue's "Disco" and Jubal's "County Ball" continues its long dance. Are my album charts stagnant? Hell yes.
