Ben's Chart - 2019-08-24

Beautiful People becomes the longest leading #1 single of all time, moving up two to the top spot for a fifth non-consecutive week.

[Chart Highlights]

This move to the top spot comes fresh off new chart methodology. The song is not very dominant and isn't very likely to have much longer at the top. It directly dethrones Ed Sheeran's own song Nothing On You, which slides down to #3. Beautiful People finally edges up to the #2 spot on the year end chart. It's only 22,000 points from taking over, which is possible with 2 or 3 more weeks in the Top 5.

Boom Bye Bye moves up to #2 on the chart this week, and up to #3 on the year end chart. It's a new peak on it's 15th week on the chart, which is very impressive. It's also very likely to be aiming high next week, challenging the current number one single for the top spot.

James Blake owns the chart once again, with a load of singles inside it. Can't Believe The Way We Flow moves down 3 to #5, but gains two new Top 10 arrivals with Tell Them and I'll Come Too pushing up to #10 and #9 respectively. Life Round Here also follows at #11. He charts a further four songs.

Metro Boomin, who has three songs on the chart, receives his third top 20 hit with Speak Out. Earning his first and second Top 40 hit is Lil Wayne, charting two songs in the latter part of the chart.

  • James Blake charts 8 songs, the most of any artist.
  • Lil Wayne debuts the most songs today, with two.
  • SOS drops out after a 14 week run on the chart, peaking at #4.
  • Both Avicii and Aloe Blacc chart seperate hits Hold The Line and Never Be Alone
  • Ed Sheeran replaces himself for the second week in a row.

Hey Ben! :)
I love that 'Beautiful People' returns to #1 yet again, allowing it to become the longest #1 ever on your personal chart.
Not too far beneath that, it's really cool seeing 'Loco Contigo' reach a new peak inside the Top 10!
As for the two debuts this week, 'Mona Lisa' is a very good song, but I wasn't a fan of 'Don't Cry' at all sadly.
I uploaded my new chart yesterday, so feel free to check it out whenever you have time!
Nice chart again this week.

Hello Ben!
Nice to see "Beautiful People" at #1 again and wow, it became the longest #1 in your personal chart! That's well deserved, one of my favourites from Ed's new album.
Also like "Blood, Sweat & Tears" and some James Blake songs reaching the top 10.
And the Lil Wayne debuts are great, personal favourite being "Mona Lisa" of course.
Great chart as always and if you have time please check out my newest chart that I uploaded recently.
Have a great week!
