Chart

2/21-2/27

This week was a crazy one with a high of 18 debuts/re-entries so let's get right into those.

Move Me by Badflower (1), becomes the second song to debut at #1 in a row following Cold War Kid's "Who's Gonna Love Me Now from last week" Released on spotify just last friday this song has instantly become one of my favorites from the rock group. Happiness by Hobo Johnson (5) becomes his second top 5 charting song after Typical Story spent it's first five weeks there and still claims the #1 spot on my leaderboard. Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd (7), I Miss You by Blink 182 (9), and What Sarah Said by Death Cab for cutie (12), Adam's Song by Blink 182 (16), and Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd (42) are all throwback songs that I started to get more into in the last week. Rich by Mourners (14), is sirius xm's alt nation latest critical cut and I have to say it is one of my favorites recently. Spanish Sahara (15) earns the title of random Foals song that debuted making it 3 weeks in a row for that group. The effects of discovering Appeal to Reason by Highly Suspect come in this week with Re-Eductation (19), Kotov Syndrom (20), Long Forgotten Sons (39), and the strength to go on (42) all debut this week. I recently started to re-discover Nothing But Theives after staying away from them for a while, Wake Up Call becomes the first of that band to chart as they debut at 28. Gold by Sir Sly continues it's crazy in and out and the bottom of the chart re-entering at 36. Monsters by Shinedown at 37 and In the Woods Somewhere at 40 debut thanks to being recommended by Spotify. Finally Complainer by Cold War Kids (38) which was one of my favorites last summer/fall finally but together enough juice to get into the top 50 this week.

Biggest Winners

Alewife by Clairo hits the #2 spot jumping 14 spots in it's second week to become the first female singer to have a top 3 song.  Hero of War also enjoyed a great boost thanks to the increased listens of "Appeal To Reason", jumping up 29 spots to number 4 in it's second week. After multiple down weeks the Runner by Foals hops up 17 spots to 25, similarly Don't Know Yet by the Silversun Pickups (26), Typical Story by Hobo Johnson (27) and Into Happiness by Phantogram (35) jumped 19, 21, and 12 spots respectively to at least come closer to their former glory.

Biggest Losers

End Of It by the Friday Pilots Club gets knocked down 13 spots to 17 after multiple weeks in the top 5, also by Friday Pilots Club Glory falls 10 spots to 18. High All Day by Max Frost is unable to make the momentum of jumping 19 spots last week, falling 24 just the next week to a new song low at 29. Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World is one the many JEA songs to drop this week as it falls from 18 to 30. 10/10 by Rex Orange County dives down 10 spots to 31. Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World sets a record for largest fall, plummeting a massive 36 spots from 7 to 43. Slightly better is Cautioners wich falls 35 spots to 44. Paranoia continues to fly around the chart, this time negativley as they spiral into a 26 spot fall to 46. April In Houston by SWMRS also suffers down 28 spots to 45. Soul Meets Body by Death Cab For Cutie is down to 47 after debuting last week at 31. Blind fool by Max Frost and Someway Somehow by Dreamers both drop by 13 and 11 spots respectively.

We saw songs drop like flies this week, mainly mid 2000's songs that had a brief renaissance on my playing history. The most notable of those is Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World who peaked at 2 and is currently top 20 all time on my leaderboard. Other than those we saw one week stands for Missed Conenction, Wars, and 1F. Most important of these drop outs are the last two, False Confidence and Carlo's Song by Noah Kahan. Both of these songs were of the few remaining songs that have stayed on the entirety of this chart's history (wich is only 10 weeks now). They both never peaked very high but they managed to stick around. Now the only songs thay have been on the entire chart's history are Desensitize and Someway Somehow by Dreamers, Train by Brick+Mortar and Typical Story by Dreamers
