Braintree Top 40

To the surprise of no one, Kesha is #1 this week as "Raising Hell" featuring Big Freedia debuts at the top spot with less than a day of release. No other song had a chance as it had a 5:1 lead by the end of the week over "Good Thing," which reaches a new peak of #2, thanks to Tanya. She also gives "10,000 Hours" and "Lonely" new peaks in the top five at #3 and #5, respectively. Josh brings British rap to the top ten as Young T & Bugsey featuring Aitch's "Strike a Pose" jumps to #10.

This is Kesha's 3rd #1 after being the first to get two consecutive #1s back in 2018 with "Good Old Days" with Macklemore and "Praying". She is now in the top five for most #1s, only behind Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift (5), and Ariana Grande (4) while tying Mark Ronson's 3.

Emily gets "Body Back" and "Make It RIght" to debut at #11 and #12, respeceitvely while Mike Maguire helps Charli XCX have renewed success on the lower half of the chart. Daina keeps "bad guy" on the chart as she continues to be Slowpoke on Billie Eilish as well as keeping Kesha on repeat all day today.

Our #Flashback Friday goes to Orelsan's "Basique," which debuted at its peak of #2 two years ago. it is the highest-peaking French song to-date and is also Orelsan's only top ten. While he's had one other appearance on the chart, he's never been able to match his debut. The only foreign language song to peak higher is Dua Lipa & BLACKPINK's "Kiss and Make Up," which went #1 last November and is sung in English & Korean.

Next week, we see new songs from Selena Gomez, Louis Tomlinson, and Tinashe as well as the full impact of Kesha. It seems like a safe bet that Kesha will be gettign her 2nd week at #1 with "Raising Hell" but anything can happen. Maybe a new song can spark a fever in one of the other influencers or Tanya pushes "Dance Monkey" back to the top spot for a 3rd week. Also, there are rumors that Adele might be releasing a new song this week, which could make an impact on the top five. Find out next week on the Braintree Top 40!
