We have a new champion here in Braintree as Troye Sivan’s new single, “My My My!” ascends 3-1, dethroning “Finesse,” which retreats 1-2. He also debuts at #38 after just a day of tracking with “The Good Side.” Dua Lipa returns to the top 5 with “IDGAF” jumping 28-3 with the aid of her new music video (if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out now). Camila Cabello also returns to the top 5 with “Havana” due to the release of her debut album.
Liam Payne gains a 2nd top ten while Rita Ora nabs her 1st as “For You (Fifty Shades Freed)” jumps 11-9. Liam previously hit the top ten with “Bedroom Floor” at #3 back in October. Cardi B also gets her 2nd top ten as “La Modelo” with Ozuna zooms 19-10 this week. "No Limit" and "Bodak Yellow" continue her dominance on the chart as they rise to #15 and #19.
As mentioned earlier, Camila Cabello’s debut album Camila was released this week to positive reviews here in Braintree. In fact, only Daina denied the former Fifth Harmony member a single play as the others all delved into the album with gusto. Aside from “Havana,” Camila was able to get 4 other songs to break into the Top 40. “She Loves Control,” “Real Friends,” “Never Be the Same,” and “Into It” all debut at #21, #23, #36, and #37, respectively. This bodes well for Camila, who was predicted to be a flop after leaving the popular girl group.
Aside from helping Camila have the best week of her life, Emm!e puts one song in the top ten as Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” soars 38-8. She also keeps “Tip Toe” and “Do Right” alive as they land at #35 and #39. That’s still better than Daina, who fails to influence the chart in the slightest this week. Will next week be the week “Bass Down Low” finally debuts?
Celina continues her love of “Filthy” as the polarizing Justin Timberlake track only falls 5 spots to #28. She also keeps Sigala in business as “Came Here For Love” rises 2 spots to #33. Emily keeps Selena Gomez on the chart another week as her collaboration with Marshmello retreats 14-25. Speaking of Marshmello, the DJ has his best week so far as “Spotlight” debuts at #22, giving him three entries this week (“Silence” falls to #40).
Next week seems to be a quiet one as the only major release are the new Justin Timberlake song, “Supplies” (spoilers: it’s just as “good” as “Filthy”), and Fall Out Boy’s latest album M A N I A. We’ll see if Troye Sivan can add a 2nd top ten to his arsenal with “The Good Side” receiving a full week of plays and if “My My My!” can hold off “Finesse” for another week or if a dark horse will take the crown.
