Chart

29th June, 2018 - 5th July, 2018

Top albums of the week:

1) Post Malone - 'beerbongs & bentleys' (=)
2) Drake - 'Scorpion' (Debut)
3) The Weeknd - 'Starboy' (Debut)
4) Post Malone - 'Stoney' (=)
5) Jorja Smith - 'Lost & Found' (-2)

Drake grabs his 1st ever #1 on my charts this week as 'Mob Ties' from his new album 'Scorpion' debuts straight in at #1. This is the 2nd consecutive #1 debut as 'I Got You' by Bebe Rexha debuted at #1 last week, and is down 2 to #3 this week. Drake also sees another Top 10 entry with 'Don't Matter To Me' ft. Michael Jackson which debuts at #10, making it Jackson's 1st ever Top 10 on my charts! Drake also brings his total up to 6 Top 10s with his 2 debuts this week. In total, 'Scorpion' sees 6 entries this week, 2 of which are re-entries. Despite 'Scorpion's success on my charts, it only debuts at #2 on the albums chart as 'beerbongs & bentleys' stays #1 for a 10th consecutive week. Lower in the Top 10, Post Malone climbs 2 with 'Better Now' to reach a new peak of #2, and he climbs 1 on 'Jackie Chan' which also reaches a new peak fo #5. 'Start Again' and 'Back to You' from '13 Reasons Why (Season 2)' are in the Top 10 simultaneously for the 7th consecutive week, beating the 6 consecutive weeks enjoyed by 'Pray For Me' and 'All the Stars' from 'Black Panther: The Album' as the longest consecutive run in the Top 10 by a pair of songs from a soundtrack.

Jorja Smith's 'Blue Lights', Post Malone's 'Over Now' and Post Malone's 'Rich & Sad' all share the title of the higheset climber this week, as all are up 4 places. 'Blue Lights' manages to reach a new peak of #11 with the climb, narrowly missing out on the Top 10. Clean Bandit's 'Solo' also climbs 3 places to match its peak of #14. A lot of songs from Bebe Rexha's 'Expectations' fall down the chart this week, leaving her with 2 Top 10 and 5 Top 20 hits as 4 track fall out. Ed Sheeran's 'Bloodstream' also enjoys its 60th consecutive week on my charts, which means it's been on every single weekly chart I've created! The next song looking likely to reach 1 year on the chart is Post Malone's 'rockstar' as it's on its 38th week now, though they are not consecutive as it fell out for just 1 week in December. The only other song with longer on the chart is Shawn Mendes' 'Mercy' with 41 weeks.

Post Malone had a good week this week, so there's a good deal to talk about in the "Post Malone Achievements Paragraph". First off, he reaches a new peak yet again with 'Better Now' as it climbs to #2, and also reaches a new peak of #5 on 'Jackie Chan'. Despite not having any re-entries, out of the 11 climbers this week, 8 were from or featured Post Malone, which I believe is a new record. This also marks the 10th week on the chart for many of the songs from 'beerbongs & bentleys', since the album was released 10 weeks ago. He has a total of 8 songs that have reached 10 weeks on the chart now. And, of course, he extends his record for charting 10 or more songs simultaneously, for the 10th consecutive week, as he charts 10 songs this week.

Thanks for reading everyone! :D
