Chart

8th June, 2018 - 14th June, 2018

Top albums of the week:

1) Post Malone - 'beerbongs & bentleys' (=)
2) Ed Sheeran - 'x' (Re)
3) Jorja Smith - 'Lost & Found' (Debut)
4) Camila Cabello - 'Camila' (-2)
5) Anne-Marie - 'Speak Your Mind' (-2)

The 2nd of my 3 concerts of the summer, and by far the biggest of the 3, kicked off in Newcastle's St. James' Park on 10th June. As I'm sure you can tell by looking at the chart, that concert was held by none other than Ed Sheeran. As with last week with Camila Cabello, the concert causes a surge of Ed's songs to make their way up the chart, led by 'Bloodstream' with a massive 33 place climb at #1. This marks 'Bloodstream's 2nd week at #1, after it 1st hit #1 on its 5th week on the chart. As it's on its 57th week on the chart now, that means that 'Bloodstream' had an entire year between its 1st and 2nd week at #1! That's far longer than any other song has even been on the chart, let alone any other gap between weeks at #1! Ed sees 2 re-entries in the Top 10 with 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You (captured in The Live Room)' at #4 and 'I'm a Mess' at #7, and sees a further 4 re-entries at #15, #22, #29 and #33.

In the Top 10, Post Malone lifts 1 place with both '92 Explorer' and 'Same Bitches', leading the former to a new peak of #2. OneRepublic's 'Start Again' also reaches a new peak, up 1 place to #6. The highest new entry of the week, 'Blue Lights', is a single originally released in 2016, but which is now seeing a 2nd wind thanks to the release of Jorja Smith's debut album 'Lost & Found'. The song just misses out on a Top 10 debut as it makes an entrance at #11. Including 'Blue Lights', the album sees a total of 5 entries on my chart this week, with 'Teenage Fantasy' at #23, 'On Your Own' at #26, 'Where Did I Go?' at #30 and 'Tomorrow' at #37.

Now for "The Post Malone Achievements Paragraph". So what has Posty been up to this week on my charts? As it turns out, not much, as his only notable achievement this week is the continuaton of him simultaneously charting 10 songs or more. This week is now the 7th consecutive week that he's managed it, though he drops 2 to 11 total entries, 10 of which are from 'beerbongs & bentleys'.

Thanks for reading everyone! :D
