Chart

Billboard Hot 40

On this weeks chart, Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower" lifts to number one after a two-week stint at the runner-up position. Post Malone and Swae Lee debuted at number eight sixteen weeks ago off mainly streaming numbers and then dropped down the chart and hovered around the twenties. After the single began receiving its official radio push, the debut of the accompanying Spiderman movie, and the release of an official music video, "Sunflower" shot up the chart again and passed its previous peak two weeks ago. When "Sunflower" looked primed to move up into the top spot over Halsey's "Without Me",  the song had to settle for number two behind the debut of Ariana Grande's "7 Rings". "Sunflower" then lost another chance at number one after J Cole's "Middle Child" shot up the chart from the lower thirties. Nonetheless, this week "Sunflower" earns Post Malone his third, after "Psycho" featuring Ty Dolla $ign and "Better Now", and Swae Lee his first number ones. Underneath "Sunflower" is Ariana Grande's former number one, "7 Rings". After debuting at number one two weeks ago following the official music video and robust streaming numbers, "7 Rings slide down to number four as its radio airplay caught up to its decreasing streams. This week, "7 Rings" shoots back up into the runner up spot following large gains on radio airplay and gains in streams following its 2 Chainz remix. "7 RIngs" should gain in the coming week following the release of Grande's new album. At number three, former number one "Without Me" by Halsey holds at its position as its radio gains by streaming decreases. "Eastside" by benny blanco, Halsey, and Khalid move up two spots to reach a new peak of number four. "Eastside" benefits from its increase in pop radio airplay while rewriting history with its longeitivity marks. Already at twenty-seven weeks, "Eastside" is the oldest song to reach a new peak as the song has taken over half a year to reach its newest peak. Last week's number one, "Middle Child" by J. Cole slides down to number five following its achievment last week of being the largest leap in chart history. "High Hopes" by Panic! At the Disco, another former number one, slides out of the top five as it drops one spot to number six. "Wow." by Post Malone ticks up one spot and completes a perfect trio of hitting number seven, with a number seven peak, in its seventh week. Billie Elish scores her first entry on the chart as "bury a friend" debuts at number eight with large streaming numbers, aided by its official video release as well. Billie Elish is the youngest artist to hit the charts as she is still in her teenage years
