Chart

James' Top 20 - July 3, 2014

Notes:

  • Tove Lo rules for her 9th week with "Habits". The song has had a very healthy run at the top, though it did almost cough up its lead a few weeks ago.
  • "Rude" by: MAGIC! holds at #2 for yet another week. With Don't Kill the Magic being released this week, it did make some gains, but it was not enough for #1. The song may end up never hitting #1, as #3 is making huge gains. It also hits the 100 play mark.
  • OneRepublic enters the Top 3 with "Love Runs Out" (4-3). The song breaks apart the previous Top 3 that spent a few weeks together. The song has been making huge gains the past few weeks, and it looks like this could be the next #1 on the chart (poor "Rude").
  • "Words as Weapons" by: Seether falls 4-3 this week, having its first fall in its chart run. Though it falls from the Top 3 this week, it should stay in the Top 5 for quite a bit.
  • "Falling for the Beat" by: Andrew Ripp climbs 7-6, just shy of the Top 5. With "Pressure" not making much movement, there's a great chance this will lift into the Top 5 next week.
  • Andy Grammer makes a nice 9-7 jump with "Back Home" to obtain a new peak. This and "Falling for the Beat" should see a nice battle for the Top 5 next week.
  • "Come With Me Now" by: KONGOS lifts into the Top 10, going 14-10 in just its second week. This song should make some noise for the next few weeks, as its been red hot for the past 4.
  • Luke James obtains the lone debut on the chart this week with "Options" (feat. Rick Ross) debuting at #13. This marks James' second song to chart, following "Mo' Better Blues" which hit as high as #13 during its short stay on the chart. He also charted on the On the Rise chart with "I.O.U." for a few weeks, and "I Want You" & "Oh God" having a week. This song should be a contender for Top 10 next week.
  • Fun fact: Two artists named Luke James have charted on the chart. There's this Luke James, and the other Luke James (now credited as Luke James Shaffer) hit #2 a few years ago with "Marching On" and #14 with "No Worries" last year.
  • "Classic" by: MKTO makes a 16-14 jump to obtain a new peak. This may be a short-lived song, but it will have to make the best of its stay.
  • "Wiggle" by: Jason Derulo (feat. Snoop Dogg) takes another drop going 10-15. Just a month ago, the song was at #3 on the chart, now it has made a huge decline. This has the potential to stay on the chart for a few more weeks, but it is in danger of leaving very soon, way sooner than expected.
  • "On Top" by: Flume (feat. T. Shirt) & "Peace" by: O.A.R. make sharp declines as they have each yet to gain a play in the past few weeks. They go 12-16 & 15-19 respectively. Both songs are in danger of leaving next week.
  • With potentially four songs ready to enter the chart (3 debuts & 1 re-entry), the 15-20 spots are all in danger of leaving. With "Wiggle", "On Top", and "Peace" making steep falls, they are in the most danger, while the long-runs of "Life of the Party", "Good as Gold", and "Counting Stars" are also in danger, but probably less danger than the other 3. Next week could see a huge shake-up in the chart.
