Notes:
- "Mayday" holds down the top spot for a second week and should continue to do so for the foreseeable future. "HandClap" (3-2) will probably rise with "Mayday", making it a huge 1-2 punch, but it's going to have to do a lot to surpass it. It might be relegated to a #2 peak.
- Zac Brown Band pulls in their third Top 10 hit from Jekyll + Hyde, as "Beautiful Drug" moves up 13-10 for a new peak. It has been a long time coming for the track, as it took 27 weeks to get into the Top 10, which is a new record. I don't know what the previous record was, but this more than likely beat it. This might spend one lone week in the Top 10 and very well peak at #10, as "Run or Hide" (14-11) will more than likely pass it up next week. This does, however, have a shot at sticking if "Cake By The Ocean" (6-8) or "Til the Day I Die" (7-9) start to decline, as their days in the Top 10 are starting to get numbered. On the other side of the chart, "Castaway" debuts at #68 this week. This has a shot at being another big hit for them, but Top 10 isn't entirely seen as of now.
- Chris Lane enters the Top 20 with "Fix", as it sizzles 22-18 for a new peak. This has moved up swimmingly thus far and is looking like a Top 10 hit in the near future.
- "Lonely Girl" moves into the Top 40 this week, going 43-37 for a new peak. Charles is having himself a wonderful year and is looking to get an Artist of the Year nominee in the 2016 awards. This has definitely moved its projections up and could easily hit the Top 10.
- "LA Confidential" follows "Lonely Girl" into the Top 40, as it goes 44-39 for a new peak. This is looking like a good hit now and Top 20 is entirely possible. It should start to slow down soon though.
- tobyMac scores his 5th Top 40 hit from This Is Not A Test, as "Move (Keep Walkin')" expectedly moves into the Top 40 by going 41-40. "Backseat Driver" (40-38) has a good shot at going Top 30, and this one might be able to follow, but it'll be a bit harder as it is starting to simmer down.
- The Heavy have had a hot past two weeks, as "Since You Been Gone" blasts into the Top 50 this week, going 52-45. It had a pretty slow ascent up until last week's boom, but this should start to slow back down again and move up slowly. Their album, Hurt & The Merciless, came out two weeks ago, and I've been spinning it quite a bit, so that has a lot to do with the momentum.
- "Close" moves into the Top 50, as it goes 51-46 for a new peak. Nick Jonas and Tove Lo are looking at a big hit, but it should take its time to rise. This might get hurt if it doesn't rise fast enough for his album release in June, but I expect this to be Top 30 by then. "Under You" from that should gain a huge debut when it releases in June (or earlier as an instant grat), so that could steal the spotlight.
- The top debut this week belongs to Finish Ticket as "Color" debuts at #60. WALK THE MOON has had no proper follow-up to "Shut Up and Dance", and these guys have a very similar sound to them, so this could work in its place. This could be a huge hit.
- Both Kygo and Kodaline score their first chart entries on their collaboration "Raging", which debuts at #62 this week. This has a huge chance at breaking out and is probably my favorite song from either act.
- Gazzo makes his chart debut with "What You Waiting For" at #64. This has a huge summer feel to it, and it could explode in the coming months (on both my chart and radio).
- "Ophelia" debuts this week at #65. It comes off the help of The Lumineers' Cleopatra being released this past week, and it saw a lot of activity. They charted previously with "Ho Hey", which hit #17 back in the day. This one is a lot more instant than that was ("Ho Hey" took awhile to warm up to me), so this could turn into a bigger hit.
- Weezer scores their first debut of their 24 year career, as "King of the World" debuts at #66. Weezer is a band that I've never cared for in the past, but actually, their whole new album was very good on first listen. This could turn into a big hit for them.
- Lissie scores the 7th and final debut of the week with "Don't You Give Up On Me" coming in at #69. This has spent quite a few weeks on On the Rise the past month or so, but it finally arrives after a long wait. This should be a pretty minor hit on the chart.
