Chart

the cm70 - March 3, 2016

Notes:

  • "Looking Up" stays #1 for its 8th week. Last week it was pretty close between it and "Falling Apart" (#2), but this week "Looking Up" distanced itself. Despite that, it's still a bit vulnerable and next week could see an entirely new #1.
  • "101" rocks into the Top 3, going 6-3 for a new peak. This has been moving up swimmingly since its debut and is looking to cash in next week. This has a very good chance at hitting #1 next week, but this should easily be able to secure the #2 spot with "Falling Apart" starting to simmer down completely. This has huge blowup potential next week, so get ready y'all. Also, vote for this when it comes up on March Madness!
  • Until the Ribbon Breaks score another Top 20 hit, as "Goldfish" takes a nice jump by going 22-19 for a new peak. This hasn't been doing as well as it seems it is doing, but it has been steadily rising due to it just doing better than its immediate competition. Next week it could see another decent jump with some songs above it not doing much.
  • Following their supposed breakup rumors that turned out untrue, Foo Fighters score a Top 30 hit with "Saint Cecilia" climbing 31-28 for a new peak. It might have the gas to go Top 20, but it'll likely take its time to get there if it can.
  • "Burning House" climbs into the Top 40 this week, moving 41-37 for a new peak. Cam had herself a nice week, seeing a healthy amount of activity between this, "Mayday", and a few of her album tracks from Untamed. "Mayday" has a good shot at debuting next week with four likely recurrents and potentially two dropouts.
  • As Talay Riley is gearing up for #1, he's tearing it up the charts with his other song, "Pink Cocaine", which comes flying 48-38 for a new peak. This has been on a tear the past few weeks and is hungry for more. Next week could see another large movement, and sooner or later, he can be in the Top 10 with this. This one is definitely one to watch for.
  • Despite the +10 movement for "Pink Cocaine", it gets beat this week by "Run Or Hide", which blasts up 13 positions, going 60-47 for a new peak. This was largely aided by the release of their superb new album, Drinking from a Salt Pond, which should see a lot of activity next week when I purchase it this weekend. The album sees 5 songs appear on On the Rise, which is great for not having anything from the album purchased except "Run or Hide" (I plan on buying it physically this weekend). This has definitely enabled the song to go the distance and could be a potential Top 10 hit. Next week could be another large movement incoming.
  • The first debut of the week belongs to The Score, who debut "On and On" at #66. I've been getting really into this one as of late, and it has big blowup potential. They were in the same position not too long ago with "Oh My Love", which I got really into for a week or so, but it never was able to debut. This could potentially be a big song, but for now, its eyes are set on the Top 40. Baby steps.
  • The final debut this week goes to Anderson .Paak, who debuts "Come Down" at #68. Most of the attention is going to go to "Silicon Valley" (57-56), but Anderson should be seeing two songs chart nicely.
