Joseph's Hit 40

I expect it's to the surprise of no-one that Finnish popstar Benjamin's comeback single enters straight in at #1 this week, despite only being released on Wednesday! Bad Luck Love is the follow-up to his debut album Fingerprints from last year, which drops one place to #4 in my album chart in its 47th week, all of which have been spent between #1 and #7. The album is home to four top 3 hits, including #1s Young & Restless and Unbreakable, both from 2015, making Bad Luck Love his third chart topper and fifth top 10. It's also my birthday #1 this year, as I turn 20 today (11th March)!

The highest climber this week comes from Lorde, who shoots up a huge 35 places to #4 with new single Green Light. Already last week it was her highest peaking track, and now it breaks its own record and gives her a first top 10 hit. Lorde's only previous hit was Team in 2014, which made it no higher than #40.

The third and final new song in this week's top 10 comes from Isaiah [Firebrace] with Don't Come Easy. Isaiah won The X Factor Australia last year, and first charted last week with a belated entry for winning single It's Gotta Be You (which climbs 34-25 this week). Don't Come Easy is the official Eurovision entry for Australia this year, marking the second Eurovision entry to make my top 10 this year so far, after Manel Navarro's Do It for Your Lover.

Elsewhere this week, Ed Sheeran enters with an album track in the form of Hearts Don't Break Anymore, as his album ÷ spends a second week at the top spot. It's joined by his last album x which climbs back to the top 5 for the first time since its second week on the chart in 2014! One of the album's lead singles, the #1 hit Shape of You, rebounds two places up to #23.

Little Mix score another top 20 hit with No More Sad Songs, now with added Machine Gun Kelly who gets a new personal best. Alongside Lorde and Isaiah as mentioned above, MGK is the only other artist to gain a new personal best this week, although Digital Farm Animals' Digital Love gets a new peak, up 2 places to #16.

Louisa Johnson and Clean Bandit charted together on their #1 collaboration Tears last year, and now they enter the top 20 together this week with their own new singles. Louisa's Best Behaviour is new at #17, and Clean Bandit are new at #18 with Zara Larsson collaboration Symphony. Expect both to climb high next week where I'll discuss them more in detail!
