Joseph's Hit 40

Another week, another new #1, as Louisa Johnson jumps 12 places with new single So Good to claim her third chart topper. In doing so, Louisa knocks former collaborators Clean Bandit down to #2 - the two previously shared #1 with Tears earlier in the year. Louisa already had the title of X Factor winner with the most #1s in my chart (only Little Mix out of the others have made the top since my chart's inception at the end of 2011, and they only have the one #1 with Secret Love Song), but she extends it further this week, keeping up her 100% #1 hit single rate. She has a long way to go to be the most successful X Factor contestant though, as third place One Direction are the current record holders for most #1s, with a total of 11.

Also soaring into the top 10, and becoming this week's highest climber, is Charli XCX with her new single After the Afterparty, featuring rapper Lil Yachty. After the Afterparty becomes Charli's fourth top 5 hit and sixth top 10, whilst it is Lil Yachty's first hit. Charli has previously achieved two #1s, one as a featured artist on my 2014 end-of-year #1 Fancy, as well as one as a lead artist last year in the form of Doing It.

Just five places lower is Charli's almost-namesake, Charlie Puth, who re-enters the chart at a new peak of #10 with new single Dangerously, which previously made #38 as an album track earlier in the year. Dangerously is Charlie's third top 10 hit and fourth top 20, with debut single Marvin Gaye missing the top 10 but racking a decent chart run overall to make up for it. We Don't Talk Anymore is Charlie's highest peaker, spending two weeks at #1 earlier this year, but will Dangerously follow suit? Expect it to climb more next week!

Also in my chart this week, Christopher enters with newest single Heartbeat at #20. It's the follow-up to Matoma collaboration Take Me Back, which is continuing its belated ascent of the chart this week, now up just one place to a new peak of #9, which is a new personal best for him, although it is still the lowest peaking single for Matoma who has had three chart hits to date, including his Vamps collaboration which is down 1 place to #3 this week.

No artists make their chart debut this week, although American boyband After Romeo reach a new peak as their Silentó collaboration Pull Over climbs one place to #30 in its third week on the chart.

Other new entries come from Little Mix with their instant grat track You Gotta Not, Emeli Sandé's new single Breathing Underwater, and the new Adele single Water Under the Bridge, the latter in particular is set to climb next week so keep an eye on these tracks. The Fooo Conspiracy also rack up a second hit, after the #7 peaking My Girl earlier this year, as Who Doesn't Love Love debuts at #36 this week, and Bebe Rexha gets a second solo hit following #6 peaking No Broken Hearts, as I Got You enters at #40.
