Chart

KC's Top 50

As we approach a record-breaking week I decided to bring these chart notes back, maybe for a short time as I'm not really fond of them, anyways let's get down to business; Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" is #1 for the ninth consecutive week, the song ties Drake's "God's Plan" as the song with the 2nd most weeks at #1 on the chart, both tracks trail behind Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me" which stood atop the chart for 10 weeks in 2017. Lil Nas X is surely gonna tie it next week and is in the running for breaking the record the following week, "Old Town Road," released in December and debuting at #10 in late March is one of the strongest number-one singles of all time and it continues to grow every passing week, nothing right now is able to pass it. The song has blocked so far 4 songs from the #1 spot, including Ariana Grande's "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored," Taylor Swift's "ME!," Halsey's "Nightmare," and this week Billie Eilish's "bad guy." We'll see how far it can go before something bests it.

As I mentioned, Bille Eilish bumps up to #2 with "bad guy," the song is pretty strong and might be able to pass "Old Town Road" in the near future if it continues to grow; Ariana Grande's "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored" moves 4-3 after spending 4 weeks at #2; Flume's "Jewel" jumps 9-4, returning to it's peak, also the first time in the Top 6 since it's debut as it's fluctured between 7-10 for the past 9 weeks; Khalid's "Talk" moves back into the Top 5 (6-5), still remainig his biggest solo hit to date; Carly Rae Jepsen's "Now That I Found You" falls 3-6, Carly has a slew of collaspes across the chart as the hype from her album Dedicated wears off; Daddy Yankee's "Con Calma" featuring Katy Perry & Snow is stationary at #7, the song is Daddy Yankee's highest charting hit, passing "Despacito" with Luis Fonsi which reached #15 in 2017. Katy Perry's new song "Never Really Over" makes a splashing debut at #35 and is set for a big jump next week; At #8 is Audien & Echosmith's "Favorite Sound" which moves 6 spots from #14, it's both of the artists first entry on the chart; Post Malone's "Wow." steps back to #9, the song spent one week at #1 on March 30th, notably the track spends it's 21st week in the Top 10, Post Malone has 3 songs with 20+ weeks in the Top 10 on the chart, both "Sunflower" and "Better Now" have 23 weeks in the region. Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me" leads with 24 weeks; Wrapping up the Top 10 is Rei's "Good Mood" which moves 13-10.

Outside the Top 10; Halsey's "Nightmare" falls 2-13, Ed Sheeran's "Cross Me" debuts at #17, it becomes his sixth Top 20 hit, and Taylor Swift's "ME!" falls 12-18.
