Britney Spears achieves her first Gold Certification in a third week at Number 1

Britney Spears earns herself a third consecutive week at Number 1 with ...Baby One More Time. The single is speedily becoming a global phenomenon, topping almost every worldwide chart it enters. Most notably, the single topped the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Charts. The chart-topper receives a Gold Certification this week. This is Britney Spears her first ever certified single. As of this week, the hit single has amassed over 40,000 points.

Lauryn Hill enters the Top 10 with her newest single Ex-Factor. The single is the new song from Lauryn Hill’s critically acclaimed album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”. The rapper previously was an integral member of the Fugees, with whom she scored the chart-topping hit Killing Me Softly. As a solo artist, her album has become a massive success and the single Doo Wop (That Thing) was a solid Top 10-hit as well. Lauryn Hill her new single Ex-Factor peaks at Number 10 this week, marking her second Top 10-entry.

B*Witched score the highest debut of the week. The Irish girl group has already made a lasting impact in the United Kingdom, where they became the first and only girl group to have all their first four singles debut at Number 1. Not even the Spice Girls managed that feat. B*Witched has had success on this list, scoring a big chart-topper with C’est La Vie. The follow-up singles Rollercoaster and To You I Belong became Top 10-hits. The girls return with the fourth single taken from their eponymous debut album, Blame It On The Weatherman, which will be the last single from the album. The single debuts at Number 14 this week.

The Offspring receive a Gold Certification for their international success single Pretty Fly (For a White Guy). The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California. The group’s style is mainstream punk rock, which is becoming popular throughout the world. The Offspring already scored big hits in the United States and topped the Billboard Alternative Charts. Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) peaked at Number 4 on this list and is one of the most successful songs of this year. As of this week, the song has scored over 40,000 points.
