Céline Dion celebrates a record-breaking week. Her single Think Twice spends a fifth week at Number 1, which makes Céline Dion the record holder of both ‘Artist with the Most Weeks at Number 1’ and ‘Single with the Most Weeks at Number 1’. She dethrones Whigfield in all categories, who spent four weeks at the top with Saturday Night.
The Canadian singer faces strong competition from Montell Jordan, who peaks at Number 2 with This Is How We Do It. Culture Beat also continues to rise with Mr. Vain.
The Outhere Brothers score their first Top 10-hit with Don’t Stop (Wiggle Wiggle). This is also their first entry on this list. They enter at Number 9.
The biggest gainer of the week is All That She Wants by Ace of Base. The Swedish group have already scored a minor hit earlier this year with The Sign, which peaked at Number 35. Their newest entry is their highest-peaking song to date, reaching Number 28. The single jumps nine places.
The highest debut of the week is scored by boy group Take That with Back For Good. The boys have not entered the list before, making this their first single to hit the charts. The song is already becoming a massive hit worldwide, debuting at Number 1 in the United Kingdom. The song begins at Number 15 on this list.
Two singles are certified this week. Flying High by the Captain Hollywood Project earns a Gold Certification. 2 Unlimited also earn a Gold Certification for their single Flying High.
