LeAnn Rimes and Eagle-Eye Cherry go head to head for this week’s Number 1-position. LeAnn Rimes is the most successful contender this week, celebrating a third consecutive week above the list with How Do I Live, Eagle-Eye Cherry does put up a fight as Save Tonight follows closely. Competition is fierce and both artists are close to reach the top spot next week.
Madonna steps into the Top 10 with Ray of Light, taken from her newest album of the same name. Her newest single is proving to be another huge success for the American pop legend, marking her third entry in the Top 10. She entered the Top 10 earlier this year with the highly successful Frozen, which is one of the best-scoring singles of this year. She also appeared in the Top 10 with Don’t Cry for Me Argentina from the film “Evita” in January 1997. This week, Ray of Light peaks at Number 10.
All Saints score the highest debut of the week. The British girl group entered the charts before with Never Ever, which became the breakthrough of the girls in the music industry. The single peaked at Number 2, received a 2 x Platinum-certification and amassed over 90,000 points. The song holds as one of the most successful songs ever released by a girl groups amongst hits by TLC and the Spice Girls. The girls of All Saints return with Under the Bridge, which is a cover of the original by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The song makes a spectacular debut at Number 12 this week.
