Chart

My Top 50

Notable chart feats this week:

Great week for Rhymeberry... and Japan - Not only do Japanese idol group Rhymeberry earn their first #1 with "Chotto Yatte Mita Dake", they score their third Top 10 with "Tokyo Chewing Gum". The former marks the first time a rap single has hit #1 on the chart in one year and two months, when Desiigner's "Tiimmy Turner" went to #1 on the chart dated November 28, 2016. They also have another song rising, as "Ga-Man" rises 41-30. In other Japanese news, Lyn rises 9-4 with "Last Surprise". Alisa Ueno also enters the Top 10 along with Sofi Tukker, The Knocks, and Nervo, closes out to the Top 10. Japanese artists make up 24% of the chart this week.

Retro Drake Bell - Drake Bell currently has the two oldest songs on the chart. He debuts at #26 with "Rusted Silouhette" (earning him the Hot Debut), and "In The End" re-enters at #43. The songs were released in 2006 and 2005 respectively.

The songs that never leave - This week's chart contains four of the longest running songs on the chart - "Call Me Maybe" rises 49-47 in its 46th week, "Break a Little" falls 29-39 in its 36th week, "Cut to the Feeling" dips 36-42 in its 29th week, and "Reach Out to the Truth" re-enters at #50 on its 28th week.

I like some of the added features to your chart, including the most successful nationalities & genres of the week!
As for the chart itself, I love seeing 'Filthy' & 'Five More Minutes' move up, as well as 'Best Friend' finally reaching the Top 10.
I'm happy that 'Marry Me' & 'New Year's Day' are still going strong inside the region too!
From your bubbling under chart, it's cool that you're paying tribute to JONGHYUN with two appearances from him, but I also adore seeing 'IDGAF' there as well.
I look forward to the next chart!
By the way, I might've already asked you, but you intend on watching the Grammys tonight?

Glad you like that! I thought it'd be cool to keep track of that. With JONGHYUN, "Before Our Spring" has a chance to chart next week, while "IDGAF" may move further up in Bubbling. There should be hip-hop entering my chart next week, as I discovered one of the members of Rhymeberry had a solo album out.

Like Piran, I really like your new feature! It's really interesting to see and I hope you keep doing it!

For your top 10, I like "Filthy", "Marry Me", "Lights Down Low" (one of my favorite songs right now), and "Best Friend".

Beyond that region, I like "MIC Drop", "Let You Down", "Reggaeton Lento", "Break a Little", and "Cut to the Feeling".

Thank you. I'm going to try, but family life is rough at the moment... that aside, glad you like all those songs. And looks like we're getting an album bomb of 7 songs next week on my chart possibly.

I understand.

Oh an album bomb? That normally doesn't happen on my charts, with one reason being that I only have ten positions. Other than that, I typically only listen to a new album at least once during the first week, and gradually have certain album tracks on repeat then playing the whle album again eventually. One example would be last August where half of Calvin Harris's new album locked the entire bottom half of my top 10.

Ah, well, considering I'm an album listener, and focus on album's narrative arcs (or if the album is just really good), it can happen quite a bit. Rarely for me would they flood the Top 10 though. So far, Pentatonix (and Kirstin), Drake Bell, and Thomas Rhett have all made multiple top 10 debuts due to their albums.
