My Top 40 - 01/08/2017

The Weeknd and Daft Punk return to #1 for a fourth week with "I Feel It Coming", which moves back to the top spot after two weeks behind "La Bicicleta". The Weeknd also claims two more spots on the top 10, with former #1 "Starboy", also featuring Daft Punk, down a spot to #7, and "Secrets", which earns Greatest Gainer honors by re-entering top 10 after an 18-5 jump. "False Alarm" also spends another week inside the top 20 at #18.

Shakira and Carlos Vives drop three spots to #4 after two weeks at #1, but her own "Chantaje" moves up another spot to #2, the highest rank it has achieved to date. Bebe Rexha also moves up another spot as "I Got You" moves inside the top three. While the rest of the top 10 is made up by former #1's or songs that have spent several weeks inside the region already, Alessia Cara achieves her first top 10 hit with "Scars to Your Beautiful" which jumps to #8 after two weeks stuck at #19.

"Rockabye" and "Fake Love" fall a bit, after peaking inside the top 5. "Rockabye", #6 this week has spent all of its chart life inside the top 10. The last spot in the top 10 goes to returning visitor "Stolen Dance"; the Milky Chance track has gone as high as #5 so far.

Directly below the top 10 comes the first of 12 tracks debuting or re-entering this week, after much of the year-end bump for older tracks fades. Only "Into You", "One Dance", "Don't Let Me Down", "This is What You Came For" and "Closer" survive, all falling several spots. The top debut this week is "Alone" by DJ Alan Walker at #11, but the tracks to keep an eye on for the next chart are Ed Sheeran's "Castle on the Hill" and "Shape of You" which debut at #24 and #21 respectively, despite being premiered only a couple of days ago. Both tracks should move inside the top 10.

Other key debuts are Ariana Grande's "Everyday" which features rapper Future, at #16, becoming the latest track from her Dangerous Woman album to debut. "Let Me Love You", "Focus", "Dangerous Woman", "Be Alright", "Side to Side" and "Into You" have all charted, with the last two reaching #1, "Words" by Daya at #22, following up "Sit Still, Look Pretty" and "Don't Let Me Down" and their succesful runs and Dua Lipa earning her first two chart entries at #30 and #33 with her collaboration with Sean Paul, "No Lie" and her own single "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)" respectively.
