Braintree Top 40

We've got a new #1 this week!  Macklemore & Kesha both get their first #1 on the Braintree Top 40 with their latest single together, "Good Old Days," thanks to Josh, Daina, and Emily.  The top ten also sees three major debuts, mostly thanks to Daina, with "One Foot" by WALK THE MOON, "Run For Cover" by The Killers, and "The Last of the Real Ones" by Fall Out Boy coming in #3, #4, and #10 respectively.  Both The KIllers and Fall Out Boy were beloved bands of Braintree in the mid-00s, so it's impressive to see sustained interest in their current projects a decade later.  Entering the top ten for the first time is Tove Styrke with "Mistakes"  at #8 and "Find You" by Nick Jonas, which also earns Biggest Gainer this week, soaring 22 places up to #9.

Taylor Swift unfortunately earns the title of Biggest Drop as "...Ready For It?" tumbles 17 spots to #23 this week.  Could this spell trouble for Swift's upcoming album, reputation, set to be released November 10th?  Not so fast.  "Look What You Made Me Do" is still holding steady in the top five and is set to be certified Platinum next week, so Swift's new album still has high expectations.

Daina provided another high debut with "Rocket" by Miriam Bryant featuring NEIKED at #13.  Emily, on the other hand, kept Fifth Harmony alive as they jumped 6 spots to #22, just a few placements shy of gaining a new peak.  Since Celina went to see Ed Sheeran in concert this week, she decided to listen to him exclusively, which helped "Castle on the Hill" debut at #36, Sheeran's first entry on the Braintree Top 40.  While Emm!e did end up listening to music this week, she stuck to the widely-ignored genre here in Braintree of country, leaving her without any influence on this week's chart yet again.

Next week will be another exciting one as we see highly anticipated albums released by Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Terror Jr as well as a new remix with Beyonce to the #8-peaking song, "Mi Gente."  Could it be enough to cause a resurgence into the top ten?  Find out next week!
