Chart

Daryl's Top 100, March 6 2017

Notes:

- This week, The 1975's "Somebody Else" remains at number one for a fourth week. That's 1 month at the top for the song. But it still faces competition from Highly Suspect and Bastille.

- We have two new entries to the top 10; Ryan Adams' "Do You Still Love Me?" at #7 (his first) and The Head and the Heart's "Rhythm & Blues" at #10. (their 2nd following the hit "All We Ever Knew" which hit #6 in October 2016)

- The Strumbellas' "We Don't Know" enters the top 40 at #39, their 2nd. Also new to the top 40 are Maggie Rogers' "Alaska" at #36 and Chevelle's "Door to Door Cannibals" at #40.

- There are 7 debuts this week.

- The highest debut goes to Sturgill Simpson's "Welcome to Earth (Pollywog)". I don't want to chart "Keep It Between the Lines". That song is the current single from his album, which was nominated for Album of the Year at this year's Grammys. However, it was not one of the best tracks of the album, and I wanted to chart a song from it which I think is better. (with that said, "Lines" is a good song, just not one of the best off the album)

- The next debut goes to The Orwells' "They Put a Body in the Bayou"at #90 . It's the first entry for the indie rock band. Pretty cool garage rock track.

- Then we have LP's "Lost on You" debuting at #95. It's been a hit in some parts of the world already, and is doing well on the Triple A chart now, and moderately well on the Alternative chart too. I've grown to like the song more as I heard it more.

- Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" debuts at #96. This song needs no introduction, since it's already a worldwide hit and the current Hot 100 #1.

- Brad Paisley's "Today" debuts at #97. I didn't chart his song with Demi Lovato last year, but I liked it nonetheless. This track is pretty good too. Paisley previously charted with "Perfect Storm", "Crushin' It" and "Country Nation".

- Jon Pardi's "Dirt on My Boots" debuts at #99. It follows "Head Over Boots", a top 10 hit on my chart in 2016. That song spent half a year on my chart too.

- Jim James' "Here in Spirit" debuts at #100. James previously charted as part of My Morning Jacket with "Compound Facture", which peaked at #39 in December 2015.
