Top albums of the week:
1) Post Malone - 'beerbongs & bentleys' (Debut)
2) Anne-Marie - 'Speak Your Mind' (Debut)
3) Various Artists - 'Black Panther: The Album' (+1)
4) Poo Bear - 'Poo Bear Presents: Bearthday Music' (Debut)
5) The Weeknd - 'My Dear Melancholy,' (-2)
2 albums make a huge impact on my chart this week, the 1st of which is Anne-Marie's 'Speak Your Mind'. Despite the album only being released this week, Anne-Marie has already tied the record for the most #1s from a single album as she grabs her 3rd with '2002', up 2 places this week. She holds the record with Camila Cabello's 'Camila' and The Weeknd's 'My Dear Melancholy,', both of which also have 3 #1s. Anne-Marie is no stranger to records on my chart, though. She first hit #1 with 'Then', and joined an elite group of artists who have knocked themselves off the top spot the week after as 'FRIENDS' ascended to the top. 'FRIENDS' then spent 4 consecutive weeks at #1, which is another record she is the joint holder of as Camila Cabello's 'She Loves Control' and 'Havana' both spent 4 consecutive weeks at #1 (though 'Havana' managed 8 non-consecutive). Anne-Marie also grabs the highest debut of the week as 'Used to Love You' is new at #2, and the aforementioned 'FRIENDS' climbs a massive 15 places to re-enter the Top 10 at #8. 'Speak Your Mind' yields a total of 8 entries on my chart this week, which is the highest total since 'Black Panther: The Album' managed 9 entries in mid-February... until this very week, that is.
Post Malone's 'beerbongs & bentleys' is the 2nd album to have a huge impact this week, and while it doesn't quite reach the same heights as 'Speak Your Mind', with its highest entry being 'Same Bitches' at #3, it does manage to match the amount of Top 10 singles as 'Blame It On Me' debuts at #7 and '92 Explorer' debuts at #9. It also manages to have the highest climber of the week as 'rockstar' blasts back up 21 places to #14. More importantly, though, it manages to nullify Anne-Marie's achievement of charting 8 songs from an album in the same week as 'beerbongs & bentleys' charts a whopping 11 tracks, the highest total ever! 'beerbongs & bentleys' manages to beat the previous record of 10 tracks set by 'Revival' late last year and then tied by 'Camila' right at the start of this year. Not to downplay 'Camila's achievement, though, since the album only has those 10 tracks while 'beerbongs & bentleys' has 17 full tracks, leaving 'Camila' as the only full-length album to chart in its entirety. Camila Cabello herself also had 17 entries in total on that week, while Post Malone only has the 11 from his album, leaving Camila as the artist with the most simultaneous entries.
The final 2 new entries this week come from 'Poo Bear Presents: Bearthday Music' as 'Either' debuts at #19 and 'From Here' debuts at #40. With 'Hard 2 Face Reality' already being on the chart at #13, that makes 3 total entries for Poo Bear this week. That's pretty impressive for an artist who has only ever charted once before in the very low regions of the chart. Making it even more impressive is that he manages it on an extremely packed week with 2 huge new album releases from artists who have already performed extremely well on my charts.
Thanks for reading everyone! :D
