Yeah, 'Revival' had a pretty huge impact this week, with 10 songs from the album impacting the chart this week! I wouldn't be surprised to see Camila have 9 out of the Top 10 the week after her album releases, with 'River' being the only song that I can see stopping a complete domination. Not all of the songs will necessarily be from 'Camila' though, as the album only has 10 tracks. I intend to listen to the album in full a few times, and then create a playlist with all of her solo songs, including features, to give me more of her songs to listen to. :D
Out of the many dropouts this week, I think that the most notable of the bunch is 'Mercy'. After being in the Top 40 for every single one of my 31 other charts, it finally drops out on what would've been it's 32nd week in the chart. 'Bloodstream' is still in the chart though, and I don't think that it's going to be dropping out too soon, so we'll see how many weeks that manages to rack up! There is still the chance that 'Mercy' will re-enter though, of course.
I'll be sure to check out your chart when it's up, and I'll see you on the Official Charts article! :D
And, of course, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I think 'Never Be The Same' has a strong chance to hit #1 for me in the week that Camila releases her album! With all of the Christmas songs falling or dropping out next week, 'Never Be The Same' has an early prediction of #2 on my next chart, though 'Perfect' still has a massive lead for now combining all three versions.
Oh yeah, when 'Camila' is released, some of her older solo hits (& maybe even some Fifth Harmony songs) will be re-entering somewhere in my chart!
That's amazing for 'Mercy' & I never actually realised how much staying power it had on your charts! I think 'Perfect' might even be able to last an entire year in my Top 40 at the rate its performing & even break the record for longest stay in my charts of all-time (I believe that honour goes to the 64 weeks for 'Love Story'!).
I actually just uploaded my Christmas chart a few minutes ago, so check it out whenever you can!
I should be on the Official Charts article replying to everyone there later today.
Enjoy the remainder of this Christmas Eve!
Hey Gameskiller01, I hope you're doing fine. I'm checking your chart for the first time and I can tell that I'm already loving it since Eminem seems to be taking over! It's good to see Camila succeding here whit 4 songs in the top 11! I'm a big fan of End Game too. From your other debuts I only know Barking and I'd give it a 6/10. So, I should be posting a new chart later, hope you can check that! Have a Merry Christmas if I don't see you around here until Monday!
Yeah, Eminem had a huge impact on my chart this week with the release of 'Revival'. I've heard that the album's been getting generally bad reviews, but I love it! It's one of my favourite of his!
Camila's my favourite artist, so 4 songs in the Top 11 is really nothing for her on my charts. She held the Top 2 for the past 2 weeks before this chart, she held the entire Top 4 one week, she's had 11 Top 10s and 7 out of my 21 #1s have been from her! When 'Camila' drops her songs are going to absolutely swamp my chart. :D
A lot of the new songs in my chart this week are from the UK grime scene, so if you don't listen to a lot of those songs it's not surprising if you don't know many of them.
I'll go check out your chart now, and you have a Merry Christmas too! :D
Yeah, I definitely saw those bad reviews. He's having a hard time on sales too if we compare it to his other releases, even though it's obvious he's gonna be #1 by Sunday in America. Cool, I love Camila too. Havana is gonna end up in my 2017 year-end top 10 and I can't wait for her debut album to come out!
Ouch. I didn't realise he'd dropped that much, or that his previous album sold that much. I don't think that releasing a video for 'Walk on Water' can really do much for it at this point. It had great first-day streams and sales, but fell hard and has never really recovered. Promoting 'River' would be a much better option. It's already proved to be much more popular and have much better longevity than 'Walk on Water' ever did, and 'River' has a genuine chance to go #1 in both the UK and US.
Also, since you seem to be from the US (though I may be mistaken), can I just ask: who on earth is Huncho Jack? His highest charting song on the Spotify UK Charts is way down at #77, with just 2 in the Top 100, and globally his highest is #27, with 11 in the Top 100, but in the US he's completely taken over, with his highest at #2, 6 in the Top 11, and 13 in the Top 55.
That's fair. Actually, I'm from Brazil. But Huncho Jack seems to be a duo formed by Travis Scott and Quavo, which explains why it's so popular right now. Also, it's crazy to think that Quavo was the artist that notched the most top 10 entries on the Hot 100 this year (4). He notched other 2 by being part of the trio Migos, also. I definitely don't see his appeal and I feel the same about Travis.
Hey GamesKiller, good chart once again! Nice to see 'River' at #1, I don't plan on checking Eminem's album out but this song is really good. Sad to see 'Real Friends' drop from #1 already but I hope it will hit it again soon. Great to see gaining momentum from : 'Crown' & 'Decline'. Surprising to see so many Eminem songs so it's sad to see 'Never Be the Same' already out of the Top 10 at #11. It's actually on the same spot for me haha. Now rating your new entries (the ones I know) : River (7/10) and Darkside (5/10). Sorry I don't really know the other ones! I posted a chart as well so hopefully you will check it out! See ya later and Merry (Early) Christmas!
If you like 'River', I'd really recommend some of Eminem's songs higher up in my chart. 'Revival' has some songs that are worth skipping, but it also has some absolutely fantastic songs.
I'd expect 'Real Friends' to return to #1 when 'Camila' drops (as well as every song from the album impacting my Top 20) and then stay there for another few weeks after that. It'll be really difficult for any songs to make an impact in the Top 2 for the next month or two though, as 'River' and 'Real Friends' have those spots absolutely locked down.
'Never Be The Same' is back up to #9 in the early predictions, so this probably won't be the end for it! I don't think it'll return to its peak of #2, though.
I saw that 'River' is at the same spot on both yours and Calum's charts, as well as 'Never Be The Same' being at the same spot on our charts, which is a pretty big coincidence! :D
Most of the non-Eminem new entries this week are from the UK grime scene, so if you don't follow that it's not surprising that you don't know many of them. I just checked out some albums from grime artists who've had songs that I liked and, as you can see from this chart, I loved a lot of them!
I'll check out your chart now, and Merry Christmas to you too! :D
Good chart as usual Gameskiller! :)
I'm really amazed with the impact Eminem had on your charts this week! I knew that 'River' would debut at #1, but the fact he had five Top 10 debuts in the same week is incredible! No doubt Camila will go beyond that though, haha.
I also love that 'Decline' is in your Top 10, as well as multiple appearances from Dave & Stormzy!
In your predictions, I like that the 'My Lover' remix is expected to go Top 10 & that 'Never Be The Same' will rebound into the region.
My Christmas chart will be up either late tonight or sometime tomorrow before the Big Top 40, so I hope you can check that out!
I'll be on the Official Charts article tomorrow too, so I'll see you there!
