Chart

6th July, 2018 - 12th July, 2018

Top albums of the week:

1) Post Malone - 'beerbongs & bentleys' (=)
2) Bebe Rexha - 'Expectations' (Re)
3) Years & Years - 'Palo Santo' (Debut)
4) Drake - 'Scorpion' (-2)
5) Anne-Marie - 'Speak Your Mind' (Re)

Big Narstie becomes one of only a few artists to have their first ever entry on my chart debut straight in at #1 as 'Hello Hi 2' debuts at the top spot this week. Though the main reason for its high entry is not to do with Big Narstie, but rather the fact that the song features Ed Sheeran, who is a close 2nd favourite artist for me, and he spits some mad bars in this song. Probably the best rapping I've ever heard from him in a studio song, though his 2012 live version of 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' for Warner Sounds still remains my favourite rapping from him ever. This becomes Ed's 6th #1, breaking a tie that he had with The Weeknd to become the sole artist with the 2nd most #1s. trailing only Camila Cabello's 9. The Weeknd does have the advantage of all 5 of his #1s being as a lead artist, though, since only 3 of Ed's are.

The only other notable movement in the Top 10 is 'Jackie Chan' climbing 1 place to reach a new peak of #4, but there is a lot of movement outside of the Top 10. 'Palo Santo' by Years & Years, from the album of the same name, is the first to benefit from the release of the album. It climbs a massive 10 places to reach a new peak of #11, just missing out on getting Years & Years their 2nd Top 10. 'Karma' from the album is a new debut at #25, while current single 'If You're Over Me' is this week's highest climber as it blasts up 12 places to match its previous peak of #27. 'Sanctify' also re-enters at #38. Drake's 'God's Plan' climbs 3 to #16 after its re-entry last week, while RAYE gets her 5th entry with 'Friends'. 'Only You', 'You Deserve Better', 'Pray For Me' and 'Teenage Fantasy' all see climbs as well.

Post Malone had yet another good week, so the "Post Malone Achievements Paragraph" gets to live on for another week. He has 4 simultaneous Top 10 hits for the 4th consecutive week, reaches a new peak of #4 on 'Jackie Chan' and sees lots of climbs and 2 re-entries this week. He also becomes the only ever artist to have 10 songs from an album reach 10 weeks on the chart, those songs being: 'rockstar' (39), 'Same Bitches' (11), '92 Explorer' (11), 'Better Now' (11), 'Blame It On Me' (11), 'Otherside' (11), 'Over Now' (11), 'Psycho' (11), 'Rich & Sad' (10) and 'Zack And Codeine' (10). Of course he also manages to chart 10 or more songs simultaneously for the 11th consecutive week, up 2 to 12 this week. 'beerbongs & bentleys' also becomes the only album to ever get 10 weeks at #1 on the albums chart as it grabs a 10th non-consecutive week.

Thanks for reading everyone! :D
