James' Top 20 - May 22, 2014

Notes:

  • "Habits" by: Tove Lo scores another week at #1 for its third week straight. It is starting to pull far away from the #2 spot. This has the potential to be the "Counting Stars" of the year (which led for 26 weeks in 2013!).
  • The Top 3 stays the same with hardly any movement from the #2 & #3 spots.
  • Jason Derulo pushes another song into the Top 5 with "Wiggle" (feat. Snoop Dogg) going 6-4. This becomes Jason's third Top 5 hit from Talk Dirty ("The Other Side" #4; "Talk Dirty" #3). This could easily surpass these two next week.
  • "On Top" by: Flume (feat. T. Shirt) goes 10-7 this week to achieve a new peak. This so far leads the pack of MLB 14: The Show songs and is the only one to debut thus far. Aloe Blacc, Big Data (feat. Joywave) (currently on On the Rise), Broken Bells, and Sir Sly have all spent multiple weeks on the On the Rise chart. Big Data (feat. Joywave)'s "Dangerous" has a shot at debuting soon.
  • "Back Home" by: Andy Grammer vaults into the Top 10 going 12-9. This becomes Andy's third Top 10 hit in 4 tries. "Fine By Me" hit #4, "Miss Me" hit #7, and "Crazy Beautiful" hit #14.
  • O.A.R. and OneRepublic finally make their long-awaited debuts with "Peace" at #15 and "Love Runs Out" at #16 respectively. "Peace" has spent numerous amounts of weeks on and off the On the Rise chart. It had a leave of absence for a few weeks before vaulting back in and making paces to where it is now. "Love Runs Out" was looking to be the next #1 on the chart upon release, but was a little underwhelming to me. It spent 5 consecutive weeks near the top of the chart before debuting.
  • "Summer" by: Calvin Harris and "Don't Kill the Magic" by: MAGIC! leave the chart this week. "Don't Kill the Magic" was expected to only be a one-weeker, and gain a new peak later when it gets released as an official single in the US ("Rude" is currently slaying :))). "Summer" was a little underwhelming its whole run. When it was released, I was expecting a Top 10 hit easily. It only hit #13 after spending 5 short weeks on the chart. It was On the Rise for a 5 weeks (like "Love Runs Out").
