Chart

James' Top 40 - September 16, 2015

5 debuts!

Notes:

  • Cold War Kids continue to rule as "First" holds on for its 5th week atop the chart, and "Thunderhearts" pulls in a second week at #2. Next week should be another battle between the Top 4, but more than likely, things should stay the same.
  • The Top 10 holds the same songs again this week, but next week that could possibly change. "My Way" (14-12), "The Hills" (17-14), and "Mountain At My Gates" (21-16) are charging in and could look for a placement. Only one will probably get it, and "Mountain At My Gates" has the edge despite being the lowest of the three. Though, there is room for two.
  • The Neighbourhood hops into the Top 20 with "R.I.P. 2 My Youth", as it goes 23-19. This should start to slow down next week, but this should be able to peak in the Top 10 when everything is said and done, and it could stay on the chart for a little while.
  • "It's You" climbs into the Top 30, going 31-26 for a new peak. Kangaroo Knife Fight is looking at a decent hit on the chart, and right now the predictions are looking at mid-teens, but that could go higher.
  • 5 debuts happen in the lower tiers of the chart this week.
  • Night Riots lead the way with "Oh My Heart" at #33. This one skips over On the Rise and flies right into the chart. This had a good week, and I am starting to get real into it. They charted not too long ago with "Contagious", which peaked at #15. This'll probably perform pretty similar to that track.
  • "Molecules" finally debuts this week at #35. It spent 6 weeks on On the Rise. This is Atlas Genius' first chart entry. I've heard good things about their album, so they might be able to score another whenever they release a new single. For the time being, it doesn't look like this'll have a big chart future, but if it can make a nice move next week, that'll serve a good picture.
  • Three Days Grace debuts at #36 with "Fallen Angel". This is their second song from Human to debut, as "I Am Machine" was the first charter and peaked at #20. "Painkiller" stood on On the Rise for a long time, and probably should have charted, while "Human Race" didn't have a chance. This could be a decent hit on here, and possibly do better than "I Am Machine".
  • BANNERS makes his chart debut this week with "Shine A Light" at #37. These kind of songs don't make big impacts on my chart, but this should be able to etch out a mid-20s peak with room to grow.
  • The #40 spot is the final debut, and it belongs to Matthew Koma, who debuts "So F*ckin' Romantic". This could make some noise on the chart, but for now, this might be short-lived because next week should see a few more debuts again. Though, this still has a shot at surviving.
