6 debuts!
Notes:
- Cam holds the top spot for a 3rd consecutive week with "Mayday". Things are looking good for the song to stay atop for a long time. It has distanced itself from "HandClap" (#2) and "Looking Up" (4-3) enough to sustain a good lead over the competition. "Looking Up" will more than likely not regain the top spot again, but it is still seeing good updates. "HandClap" is really the only chance to take away Cam from the top spot, but it's going to have to string together some good weeks while Cam loses some steam. The longest run at #1 this year belongs to "Looking Up" at 6 weeks (the other two were in 2015), but this has a good shot at surpassing that barring any unforeseen circumstances.
- "Dancing Around It" climbs into the Top 5 this week by going 7-5 for a new peak, giving Charles his second Top 5 hit. This will look to move up to #4 next week, but pass that is questionable. This likely won't go #1 like "The Driver" (5-6), but Top 5 is still great. Charles will aim for a third straight with "Lonely Girl", which is on a hot streak, as this week it goes 37-32 for a new peak.
- Run River North climb into the Top 10 this week, going 11-8 for a new peak. This has had a nice run thus far and is looking at a Top 3 peak. This still has a shot at #1, but it is going to have to have some longevity to it in order to do that. Right now, a #3 peak seems like all it can get.
- 3OH!3 continues to be a surprise, as now "MAD AT YOU" blasts into the Top 20, going 22-14 for a new peak. This has been hot the past few weeks (really, its whole run), and next week it'll seek the Top 10. #1 is surprisingly not out of the picture for this. This could be a huge summer hit despite getting its start in March. 3OH!3 also score their fourth chart entry from NIGHT SPORTS as now "HEAR ME NOW" debuts this week at #62. The album isn't even out yet, and it has already scored four songs to chart (albeit, two couldn't get out of the 60s and stayed for a week), but "HEAR ME NOW" should be a decent album track hit.
- "PILLOWTALK" climbs into the Top 20 this week, going 21-19 for a new peak. This has slowed down quite a bit, but it's not done yet. This should peak somewhere in the mid teens, but "LIKE I WOULD" (54-51) is starting to come into its own and should steal attention.
- twenty one pilots and AWOLNATION climb into the Top 30 with "Ride" and "Woman Woman", going 32-25 and 33-28 respectively. The former should continue to rise and has potential to be a Top 10, but the latter should die off soon. Top 20 is a possibility for "Woman Woman", but no promises just yet.
- "Pause" is starting to heat up now, as it climbs into the Top 40 this week by going 42-37 for a new peak. It has been moving extremely slow for a SafetySuit song, but now it's starting to live up to its potential. This could be an eventual hit for SafetySuit, but it's going to have to act quickly before "Numbers or Faith" or "Beat of Your Heart" (or potentially something else/the album) come out because the two songs should be easy #1 debuts if the studio version lives up to the live version they have been playing. This one didn't make me jump out of my seat in excitement sadly, as it is a bit slower moving, but it has grown on me a lot since its release. This could hit Top 10, but again, it's going to have to act quickly for that to happen.
- Mat Kearney finally moves back into the Top 40 with "Moving On" this week, as it goes 44-40 for a new peak. It peaked at #37 and stayed on the chart for three weeks last year before its re-entry earlier this year, but it took 12 weeks for it to re-approach its old peak. This should pass that next week and then some in the future. This could hit the Top 30, but beyond that is probably not possible at this stage in its run.
- The Chainsmokers are looking at a huge hit with "Don't Let Me Down", as it blasts 56-45 this week for a new peak. "Roses" (#51) was unable to capitalize on its hot start, but this is going to make up for it. This should be a huge summer hit on the chart (and the real charts), so expect huge jumps for the next few weeks. This has a good shot at Top 10 and room to grow even more. One thing it does have working against it, is that it's a dance song, which the genre has yet to pull in a #1.
- "Lose Control" jumps into the Top 50 this week, going 52-48 for a new peak. This should be a good follow-up to "Hello" (19-21), which peaked at #3. This could hit the Top 10, but for now, Top 30 or 20 is its ceiling.
- The top debut this week belongs to The Avett Brothers, as they score their first chart entry with "Ain't No Man" at #49. I'm currently in love with this, and it has a shot at being a future #1 hit. This should have some huge leaps the next few weeks, so expect big things for this.
- Yes, the artwork is correct. The Script score a big chart entry with an album track from their 2010 album Science & Faith with "Walk Away" debuting at #52. I recently got Amazon Prime, which comes with Prime Music and has free stuff, and this was one of the many albums I downloaded. I've always really liked this song, but I never bought it until now. This actually has the shot at being a huge hit. I've been listening to this a lot lately, so this could get a good amount of activity on the chart despite being nearly 6 years old and two albums ago for The Script.
- "Raging" climbs into the Top 60 this week, going 62-56 for a new peak. This is moving pretty nicely right now and could be a decent hit on the chart. It could perform like "Ocean Drive" (28-29), but not fizzle out as quickly as that did.
- The Temper Trap get their chart debut this week with "Fall Together" debuting at #60 this week. This should be a minor hit on the chart, but a Top 40 peak is achievable.
- KONGOS find their way back to the chart with "Take It From Me" at #61. This has a good shot at being a hit for them. This is just their second chart entry behind "Come With Me Now", which peaked at #5, but has one of the longest runs on On the Rise at 11 weeks there. This likely won't match that peak, but it should be a decent-sized hit.
- Nick Jonas scores the final debut this week with "Champagne Problems" at #64 this week. Even though "Close" (46-41) is the single, this should see some activity. Nick is potentially looking at a huge era this time around after his debut got two minor hits. He should see debuts with "Bacon" and "Chainsaw" when they are released as instant grats, and "Under You" should be a huge debut when it come out since I've been anticipating it for a long time now. Last Year Was Complicated and NIGHT SPORTS are looking like this year's surprise album highlights.
