Joseph's Hit 40

Up 7 places from its debut last week, All Night by The Vamps & Matoma reaches the top spot after a full week of availability. This won't come as a surprise to anyone who knows me well I'm sure! All nine of The Vamps' singles have now made the top spot, although only Wild Heart and I Found a Girl managed multiple weeks at the top, can All Night join them? Interestingly, only Last Night and Wake Up debuted at the top, the rest all climbed to the top after release. This now puts them at second place for artists with the most #1s, trailing only One Direction who have 11. In addition, it's the first #1 for Norwegian DJ Matoma, who achieved his first top 10 last month with Becky Hill on False Alarm, and he also claims the highest climber this week as Take Me Back, his collaboration with Christopher, jumps up 14 places to a new peak of #21.

Little Mix achieved their first EVER #1 this year with Secret Love Song, which spent 2 weeks at the top in February. The follow-up single Hair, featuring Sean Paul, got blocked from the top by Tom Odell's Magnetised and had to settle for #2. New single Shout Out to My Ex, the lead single from fourth album Glory Days, also gets blocked from the top, having to settle for #2 but still claiming the highest new entry, and making it their third top 2 in a row.

Re-entering at a new peak of #8 this week is HEAVEN, the fourth single from Troye Sivan's debut album Blue Neighbourhood (which dips out of my album chart top 10 for the first time, on its 50th week charting. The album is a record breaker in my chart, setting the record for most weeks at #1, with 14 in total. HEAVEN becomes his 8th top 10 hit, with all three previous singles making the top 2. HEAVEN is a particularly special song, talking about struggles with sexuality, and for that reason it felt particularly appropriate to include it as this week's recommendation, please check it out! In addition, it marks the first top 10 hit for Betty Who.

In other news, it's a good week for Daya as she claims her second top 10 with Sit Still, Look Pretty, which jumps 11 places to #7. It is the title track of her debut album, which enters at #1 in my album chart this week. Daya has otherwise only made my chart with her Chainsmokers collaboration Don't Let Me Down, although with an album this strong, I'm sure she has plenty more hits to come in my chart.

Two songs re-enter in this week's top 20, one of which is at a new peak. Sexual by NEIKED feat. Dyo charted at #34 three weeks ago before dropping out, so it now achieves a new peak, which is also a career peak for NEIKED who has no other hits in my chart. Dyo also gets a new peak, previously peaking at #35 with Wiley and Chip on Reload, under her previous stage name of Ms D. The other re-entry is from All Saints, whose new single One Woman Man is back in at #20. It peaked at #9 earlier this year as an instant grat.

Other new entries this week come from After Romeo, who score their first chart hit with the Silentó-assisted Pull Over, plus Meghan Trainor feat. Yo Gotti and John Legend.
