Boyzone remains at Number 1 for a fourth consecutive week

Boyzone celebrate a fourth consecutive week at Number 1 with No Matter What. The hit single peaked above the list in the United Kingdom, and it is the first and so far only Boyzone song to become popular and to have charted in the United States. The song is becoming one of the boy’s biggest hits on this list, rapidly scoring points. This week, the song receives a Gold Status. This is the boys’ seventh single to achieve a Gold Certification. As of this week, No Matter What amassed over 40,000 points.

Lauryn Hill steps into the Top 10 with Doo Wop (That Thing). Lauryn Hill is the third and final member of the Fugees to go solo, following Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel. With the Fugees, the fantastic Lauryn Hill scored many hits and one Number 1-hit with Killing Me Softly. Lauryn Hill debuts with her first album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”, which was critically acclaimed and is a global success. This week, Lauryn Hill scores her first Top 10-hit with Doo Wop (That Thing). The single peaks at Number 6 this week. As of this week, all members of the Fugees have managed to enter the Top 10 as a solo-artist.

Brandy slides into the Top 10 with Top of the World alongside Mase. Brandy has already had a fantastic year, scoring a massive Number 1-hit with The Boy Is Mine. Her duet with Monica has spent five weeks above the list and amassed over 90,000 points. As of recent, the song received a 2 x Platinum-certification. Brandy now returns with Top of the World, which is the second hit to be released from Brandy’s album “Never Say Never”. The new single is aided by the success of the upcoming horror film “I Still Now What You Did Last Summer”. Brandy her new single Top of the World peaks at Number 10. The single is her third song to reach the Top 10.

Touch and Go score the highest debut of the week. Touch and Go is a British jazz pop musical ensemble. The group debuts with Would You…?, which is already a big success in the United Kingdom. It also is becoming a hit in Europe, where the ensemble tours extensively. Touch and Go are especially popular in Eastern Europe, especially in Russia, playing some fifty concerts a year. On this list, Would You…? debuts at Number 24.

Madonna receives a Gold Certification for Drowned World/Substitute for Love. The double A-sided single was another big success for Madonna, following other hits such as Frozen and Ray of Light. The song is the third release from Madonna her hit album “Ray of Light” and became another international chart-topper. On this list, the song peaked at Number 3. As of this week, the song has amassed over 40,000 points.
