With incredible streaming figures and no sign of slowing down, Dutch hit-machines Maan and Goldband enter a second consecutive week at Number 1 with the thrilling “Stiekem”. The newest single is the love child of Maan and Goldband singer Karel Gerlach, who have started dating recently. Their synth-heavy collaboration debuted atop my personal list last week with more than seventy combined streams, earning them the highest opening numbers of the year so far. The Number 1-debut earned Maan her fifth record-breaking chart-topper, while Goldband claim their second. This week, “Stiekem” has amassed over sixty combined streams, a very small decrease when compared to last week’s numbers. The Dutch hit single faces competition from Taylor Swift, who stays in second place with “Anti-Hero”, and Sam Smith and Kim Petras with “Unholy” in third.
Dutch independent artists S10 & Froukje move up five places to #4 with the electric “Nooit Meer Spijt”. This is the duo their second collaboration: they previously scored a #10-hit with “Zonder Gezicht” taken from Froukje her sophomore EP. The new collaboration has been teased for months now, first performed at Lowlands Festival in August. With its new peak at #4, “Nooit Meer Spijt” becomes Froukje and S10 their highest-peaking effort to date. S10 her Eurovision entry “De Diepte” also peaked at #4 following the finale. The song is supported by increasing streaming numbers and some amazing live performances.
After four consecutive weeks stuck at #11, pop royalty Beyoncé moves up to a new peak at #9 with the electric “Cuff It”. The funk-infused disco release is taken from Beyoncé her latest album Renaissance, which its lead single “Break My Soul” went on to become the singer her seventh Number 1-song on my personal list. The new single “Cuff It” received critical acclaim upon release and has since went viral on TikTok. It has also received a Best R&B Song nomination at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. With a new peak at #9, Beyoncé collects her thirty-fourth Top 10-hit on my personal list. She is the artist with the second most Top 10-entries on my chart, only bested by Rihanna who has collected thirty-six.
Inside the Top 20, Tom Grennan & Joel Corry quickly race towards a new peak at #11, barely missing the Top 10. It marks Tom Grennan’s highest-charting effort since his collaboration “By Your Side” with Calvin Harris. Harry Styles continues to move upwards with his latest radio single “Music for a Sushi Restaurant”, peaking at #14 this week, while Irish pop favourite Dermot Kennedy reaches a new peak at #15 with “Kiss Me”. SZA enters the Top 20 for the first time with her latest single “Shirt”, finishing at #19, while Tiësto & Tate McRae follow closely at #20 with their new high energy cross-over “10:35”.
The Hague pop band Son Mieux score the highest debut of the week with “This Is The Moment”. The Dutch group broke into the mainstream this year after an acclaimed performance at Pinkpop Festival in The Netherlands. Following the show, Son Mieux scored a national hit with “Multicolor”, which also became a Top 40-entry on my personal list. This week, the Dutch band were announced to be performing at the Song van het Jaar Festival alongside other popular Dutch acts. Debuting at #29 with “This Is The Moment”, Son Mieux earn the lowest top debut of the entire year so far.
Further down, Drake and 21 Savage debut at #36 with “Rich Flex”, taken from Drake his surprise album Her Loss. It marks the Canadian rapper his twenty-ninth Top 40-song on my list. Meghan Trainor makes her comeback with the TikTok hit song “Made You Look”, debuting at #39. It is the “All About That Bass”-singer her first chart entry since 2016’s “NO”.
