Chart

Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix aim for Number 1 with “Heartbreak Anthem”, but are blocked by Dutch rapper Antoon

Dutch rapper Antoon steadily remains at Number 1 with his breakout single “Hyperventilatie”. The young talent is supported by big streaming numbers and the stable success of his debut album De Nacht Is Van Ons. Antoon’s reign does not remain unchallenged though, as Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix reach a new peak at Number 2 with “Heartbreak Anthem” this week. The song is Galantis his highest-peaking song to date and is currently on the verge to become Little Mix their eleventh chart-topping hit on my chart, would they be able to knock Antoon off the top next week. Olivia Rodrigo should not be forgotten, as “good 4 u” steadily remains inside the Top 3 for a tenth week.

While “Hyperventilatie” steadily maintains its top position, Antoon also claims his second Top 10-hit with his 2020-single “Leuk”, taken from his debut EP Heilig Water. The song features rapper and producer Big2, who is a member of the Opposites and the co-founder of record label Dreamteam. Upon initial release, “Leuk” was only a minor success across streaming services, but after “Hyperventilatie” became a national hit, the song resurged and is taking the charts by storm. On this chart, “Leuk” peaks at Number 8 this week, aided by growing steaming numbers and playlisting.

The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber jump into the Top 10 with their newest collaboration “Stay”, peaking at Number 10. The synth-driven pop hit is the highly anticipated follow-up to The Kid LAROI “Without You” [#2], which conquered the charts worldwide and went viral on TikTok. Its success was further sustained with a Miley Cyrus-remix which was released earlier this year. Furthermore, “Stay” is Bieber his landmark twentieth Top 10-entry on this chart. The Canadian star scored his first Top 10-hit back in 2010 with “One Time” [#10] and has been a pop mainstay ever since.

The highest debut of the week is scored by Normani and Cardi B’s “Wild Side”. The new song is the lead single of Normani’s upcoming untitled debut solo album and marks her first Top 40-entry since the 2019-hit “Motivation” [#2]. The single was accompanied by a beautiful music video directed by Tanu Muino -the same mastermind behind Cardi B’s “Up” [#11]- which went viral across the internet. The R&B-ballad its success is furthered by strong streaming numbers and playlisting. As “Wild Side” debuts at Number 20 this week, Normani earns her sixth Top 40-entry while Cardi B claims her fifteenth.

At Number 27, Los Angeles-based singer Noizu debuts with his breakout single “Summer ’91 (Looking Back)”. The original version of the song was first released in July 2020 and became a minor streaming hit across various music platforms. The vocal remix is becoming an even bigger success and is currently climbing the worldwide charts. At Number 35, Australian duo Shouse enter with “Love Tonight”. Like “Summer ‘91”, the song was re-released this year and is also becoming a smash hit across the world. Most recently, the song was remixed by David Guetta.

To celebrate the long awaited return of Normani, I have decided to take a look at the American singer her chart history. The Atlanta-born artist first rose to fame on The X Factor USA in 2012 as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony. With the girls, she scored a string of Top 40-hits, including the multi-platinum Number 1-hit “Work From Home”. After the group disbanded in 2018, Normani started her solo career with high-profile collaborators such as Khalid and Calvin Harris. Her biggest-scoring solo hit to date remains “Dancing With a Stranger” alongside Sam Smith, which amassed over 70,000 points. Her other top-sellers include “Worth It” as a member of Fifth Harmony [#4] and her debut solo single “Love Lies” [#5]. For a full list of Normani’s highest-scoring releases, check the list below this chart.

Im happy to see your highest debut Wild side i really like the R&b side of her i couldn't believe it she also had a part in production and in songwriting it. Im glad she's proving to be the second best fifth harmony members im in love with the extended version. Like the rebound of Drivers license and Solar power. Like the new peaks for Heartbreak anthem for a new peak aiming for the top spot. I see your playlist is A +
LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT WEEK ANY HOPE NORMANI WILD SIDE REACHING TOP 10?

I adore the new Normani song! I hope she leans more into the R&B side, it really suits her. She really reminds me of Brandy her work in the 90s. "Wild Side" could reach the Top 10 next week, but it will be a close call. Thank you so much for the comment :)
