Guus Meeuwis and Vagant match Take That their record

Het Is Een Nacht by Guus Meeuwis and Vagant hits an eighth week at Number 1. The song now matches the record of Back For Good by Take That, which also spent eight weeks at the top. If the Dutch duo stays at Number 1 for another week, they would become the sole record holders. The song does face strong competition from numerous contenders, including Everything But The Girl, TLC and Marco Borsato.

Coolio and L.V. jump into the Top 10 with Gangsta’s Paradise, which was last week’s highest debut. This is their first Top 10-entry on the list. The duo reaches a new peak at Number 8.

American vocalist Mariah Carey scores her second Top 10-entry with Fantasy at Number 10. The singer has already entered the Top 10 before with her holliday-hit All I Want For Christmas Is You, which peaked at Number 7. Mariah Carey also entered the list with other singles which were minor hits, including I’ll Be There and Without You.

Do What’s Good For Me by 2 Unlimited scores the highest debut of the week at Number 27. The hitmakers have already entered the list before with successes, such as Here I Go and Tribal Dance. Their best-scoring single to date remains No Limit, which peaked at Number 3 and was certified Gold earlier this year.
