Maan & Goldband close out the year at Number 1

On the final chart of the year, Maan and Goldband their “Stiekem” earns an eighth consecutive week at Number 1. Ever since the song debuted atop the list eight weeks ago, the synth-heavy duet has enjoyed an incredible chart-run. It outperformed major competition from Taylor Swift, Lewis Capaldi and, most recently, Raye. It has also become the fastest-scoring release of 2022, having earned platinum status in only seven weeks of charting. This week, “Stiekem” becomes one of the longest-running Dutch Number 1s of all time, joining Guus Meeuwis his 1995-hit “Het Is Een Nacht” in second place with eight weeks spent at the top. The longest-running Dutch Number 1 is Kris Kross Amsterdam’s 2018 collaboration “Hij Is Van Mij” with Maan, which spent nine weeks atop the list. The overall longest-running Number 1 of all time is Dua Lipa’s “New Rules”, which topped the chart for thirteen weeks.

R&B’s princess SZA quickly moves up the list with her latest single “Nobody Gets Me”, peaking at #4 this week. The ballad is taken from SZA her latest sophomore album S.O.S., which was released to rave reviews from critics and fans. The album its lead single, “Shirt”, also enjoys a new peak, finishing at #5 on this week’s chart. “Nobody Gets Me” becomes SZA her eighth Top 10-hit on my personal chart, and it marks the fourth single taken from S.O.S. to peak inside the Top 5. The new single is supported by increasing streaming figures and viral success, as most of S.O.S. its album cuts quickly became popular on TikTok upon the album’s release.

While most Christmas songs move down or leave the chart entirely, Dutch singer-songwriter Flemming seizes the chance to score the highest debut of the week with his new single “Paracetamollen”. The pop ballad is taken from Flemming his eponymous debut album, which was released a few months ago. The new single caps off an already hit-packed year for the Dutch young talent. Following his breakthrough debut “Amsterdam” in late 2021, Flemming started an incredible run of hit singles in The Netherlands, with the most-successful being the earworm “Automatisch”, which became one of the most successful singles of 2022 in the country. The newest “Paracetamollen” starts its chart journey at #20 this week, supported by steadily increasing streaming numbers and stable playlisting. It marks Flemming his fifth Top 40-entry on my personal list and his fifth consecutive Top 20-peak.

During the Christmas migration, several singles that were previously pushed off the charts re-enter my personal list. Antoon re-enters at #27 with his Top 10-song “Klop, Klop”. Last week, the Dutch pop star headlined two sold-out shows at the Ziggo Dome, one of the Netherlands’ biggest concert venues. Tame Impala, The Gorillaz and Bootie Brown return at #34 with their Top 10-comeback “New Gold”, which marks both acts their most successful single release in years. Dutch pop darlings Suzan & Freek round out the re-entries at #38 with “Kwijt”. The song previously peaked at #5 on my personal chart, becoming the duo their tenth landmark Top 10-entry.

Lana Del Rey returns with another crazy long song title, this time with “Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd”, taken from her upcoming ninth album of the same name. It has been some time since the American singer appeared on my list, last appearing on “Don’t Call Me Angel” [#15] in 2019. Her latest single marks Del Rey her fourteenth Top 40-entry. American pop favourite Ava Max becomes the last debut of the year at #39 with her latest release “Dancing’s Done”. Earlier this year, she released “Maybe You’re The Problem” as the lead single of her highly anticipated follow-up to Heaven & Hell, but the song sadly underperformed.

Hi Link!
Nice to see "Strong" in the top 10, the big gains for "Pointless", "B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)", "Lionheart (Fearless)" and the debut for "Dancing's Done".
Great chart!
