Rosalía aims for her first Number 1-single, but is blocked by Steve Lacy

Although summer is slowly being traded in for autumn, Spanish pop singer Rosalía keeps summer alive with her smash hit “Despechá”. The sultry mambo-meets-dance song is climbing the chart worldwide; topping the charts in Spain and becoming her first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Rosalía repeats similar success on my personal list, as “Despechá” climbs to a new peak at #2 this week. It ties with her breakout hit “Con Altura” as her highest-peaking hit to date. “Despechá” is edged out of the Number 1-position by Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit”, which extends its lead atop the chart to four weeks. Steve Lacy remains unmatched in his streaming numbers and playlisting.

After weeks of being just being bumped out the Top 10, Tiësto and Charli XCX finally move up to #10 with their electrifying “Hot In It”. The collab spent three non-consecutive weeks at #12, being just edged out by bigger competition. This week, however, Tiësto and Charli finally break away. “Hot In It” marks Tiësto his seventh Top 10-hit on my personal list, while Charli XCX earns her fourth. She’s had a pretty big revival of sorts on my chart; earlier this year she scored her highest-peaking hit in eight years with “Beg For You” [#4], while all the singles taken from her fifth studio album Crash made it into the Top 40.

Meanwhile, Goldband return to the Top 10 with “Noodgeval”, supported by their great performance at Lowlands Festival. The single previously peaked at #5 and became their highest-peaking record to date. Alesso & Zara Larsson’s “Words” bounds back to #12, while Harry Styles’s “Late Night Talking” lifts to #15. Goldband’s “Psycho” and Burna Boy’s catchy “Last, Last” both reach new peaks at #16 and #17 respectively. Rosa Linn enters the Top 20 for the first time with her Eurovision entry “Snap”, finishing at #20 this week.

After long speculation and high anticipation, industry legend Britney Spears finally makes her comeback after the termination of her conservatorship with “Hold Me Closer” alongside the iconic Elton John. The song is a reworked version of John’s 1972-hit “Tiny Dancer”, much in the same vain of his “Cold Heart”-hit with Dua Lipa last year. The song marks Britney Spears her first musical release since 2016 and has been met with praise from music critics and fans. “Hold Me Closer” is the top new debut of the week, entering at #19. It marks Elton John his tenth Top 40-hit and Spears’s thirty-ninth.

Further down, British rock band Wet Leg make their Top 40-debut with “Wet Dream” at #36. The group performed at Lowlands Festival a two weeks ago to critical acclaim. Their single was covered by Harry Styles and the group is set to support him on his tour in Australia and Europe in 2023. At #38, Dutch radio darling Flemming and hip hop icon Ronnie Flex debut with “Terug Bij Af”, an unexpected collab. David Guetta rounds out the Top 40 with “I’m Good (Blue)” featuring Bebe Rexha, who makes her first chart appearance since last year’s flop “Sacrifice”.

Hi there Link!
Nice to see "Bad Habit" still at the top, "Hot In It" reaching the top 10 and the debuts for "I'm Good (Blue)", "Wet Dream" and "Hold Me Closer".
Great chart!
