Shania Twain climbs to her first ever Number 1-hit

Look how fare Shania Twain made it as You’re Still the One becomes her first ever Number 1-hit on this list. Shania Twain is the second Canadian artist to ever peak above the list, following the French-Canadian Céline Dion. The new chart-topper is becoming a huge international hit and marking Shania Twain her first proper hit in Europe. The sales of her album “Come On Over” are also boosted, skyrocketing to the top of multiple charts. Shania Twain successfully dethrones LeAnn Rimes after she spent three weeks above the list with How Do I Live, whilst fending off Eagle-Eye Cherry and Savage Garden.

The Tamperer featuring Maya enter the Top 10 with the dance hit Feel It. The group hails from Italy where they are already an established success. The group is now achieving international success with their chart-topping hit Feel It. The single peaked at Number 1 on the Official UK Charts. The single heavily relies on a sample of the Jacksons 5’shit Can You Feel It. On this list, the Tamperer featuring Maya peaks at Number 8 this week.

All Saints score their second Top 10-entry with Under the Bridge. The song is a cover version of the original by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. All Saints previously entered the Top 10 with Never Ever which became a hugely successful hit for the group, peaking at Number 2 and amassing over 90,000 points. We will have to wait and see if the girls’ newest single can live up to its predecessor, but they are off to a strong start already.

Steps score the highest debut of the week. The British group scored a big hit earlier this year with the country-infused 5,6,,7,8. The single peaked at Number 3 and amassed over 40,000, earning it a nice Gold Certification. Steps return with their second single taken from their debut album “Step One”, the pop dance hit Last Thing on My Mind. The song is off to a great start, debuting at Number 26 this week.

Cleopatra celebrate a Gold Certification for Cleopatra’s Theme. The single became the girls’ breakthrough on this list, peaking at Number 3 earlier this year. Internationally, the single was a success as well. The single debuted within the Top 10 in the United Kingdom where they are one of the youngest girl groups to ever reach the charts. As of this week, the single has scored over 40,000 points on this list.
