The Spice Girls celebrate a fourth, Golden week at Number 1

The Spice Girls celebrate a fourth consecutive week at Number 1 with Goodbye. The hit single is their first ever release without Geri Halliwell in the group. The lovely ballad has amassed over 40,000 points, certifying the singe Gold. This is the group their tenth consecutive single to score a Gold Certification. The girls face competition from Will Smith and, once again, the Vengaboys. On that note, Miami peaks at Number 2 this week and could become Will Smith his second chart-topper next week.

Pop legends Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston step into the Top 10 with When You Believe. The collaboration marks another huge success for both singers, whom have already left lasting legacies in the music industry. The single has already experienced success in the United States and the United Kingdom. Mariah Carey has already entered the Top 10 with her two Number 1-hits One Sweet Day and Fantasy, alongside other singles such as Emotions and Forever. The new When You Believe marks Mariah Carey her sixth Top 10-hit. Whitney Houston has entered the desirable Top 10 before as well, most notably with Step By Step. The new When You Believe marks Whitney Houston her second Top 10-song. The already iconic collaboration hits Number 10 this week.

The Offspring scores the highest debut of the week. The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California. The group’s style is mainstream punk rock, which is becoming popular throughout the world. The Offspring already scored big hits in the United States and topped the Billboard Alternative Charts. The group now breaks international boundaries with Pretty Fly (For a White Guy). The song is already skyrocketing the charts in the Netherlands and other European countries. On this list, the single debuts at Number 21 this week.

Aaliyah receives a Gold Certification for her Top 10-hit Are You That Somebody. The single was recorded for the “Dr. Dolittle” soundtrack and featured backing vocals from Static Major and a guest rap from Timbaland. The song immediately became Aaliyah her biggest-scoring hit on this list and her highest-peaking entry to date. Are You That Somebody peaked at Number 4. As of this week, the song has amassed over 40,000 points.

Meja receives Gold Certification for her hit single All About the Money. The single became the Swedish singer’s first proper international hit, whilst being her breakthrough on this list. The song peaked at Number 3 and spent five weeks within the Top 10. As of this week, the golden song has scored over 40,000 points.
