Effervescence - July 4th, 2024

Welcome along to Effervescence!

AHOY!

We've reached the halfway point of the Summer Season already! Craziness!

Chart Announcements:

  • Last week we marked the ½ Way Checkpoint of 2024. Be sure to check out the two special editions of Top 75 charts I published last weekend:
  • The Top 75 Effervescence chart rundown for 2024 so far
  • My Top 75 Most Played 2024 so far according to Stats.FM.
  • Today is July 4th - American Independence Day! Effervescence features some of the biggest and most famous 'American hits/classics'.
  • It has been a while since our last full chart takeover. Next week will feature our next full takeover. We're having a Top 75 chart rundown of my picks of the very best in Rock music history to celebrate 'International Day of Rock 'n' Roll' (July 13th).

Noteworthy Cultural Points:

  • The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, or 'Euro 2024' in Germany, is ongoing until the final on Sunday, July 14th

  • It's American Independence Day on Thursday, July 4th

  • It's International Rock 'n' Roll Day on Friday, July 13th

  • Parookaville ('PV' ) The electronic dance music festival, takes place between July 17th and July 21st at Weeze Airport in Germany.

So Fresh So Clean [Record of the Week]:

Lil Nas X – “HERE WE GO!”

It's a bit of a focus on American artists and hits this week around here, so why not the latest release from US rapper Lil Nas X? 'Here We Go' is the Georgian superstar's new single commissioned to accompany the brand new Netflix Films release of the fourth installment of American action franchise 'Beverly Hills Cop'. What is more American than that? The track features the classic 'Axel F' riff throughout and is sure to feature prominently in the movie. 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F' is available on Netflix on now.

['So Fresh So Clean' is a featured brand new song released on the Friday after last week's Effervescence chart. Sometimes it's a big release, sometimes it's AN offbeat random selection. The track will not necessarily debut in the effervescence chart rundown]

This Week's Movers & Shakers:

Longest Running Entry

'Love Hurt Repeat' – Alle Farben, Lewis Thompson, Mae Muller (23 Weeks)

Highest New Entry

'Pour Me A Drink' – Post Malone ft. Blake Shelton (#38)

*The throwback entries are also listed as new entries at the time of publishing, however, they are excluded from this feature as I'm always looking to fill in historical records which would negate them being new entries here.

Biggest Climber

'Birds of a Feather' – Billie Eilish (▲28)

Biggest Faller

'feelslikeimfallinginlove' – Coldplay (▼34)

Highest Dropout

'True Colours' – Becky Hill, Self Esteem (#48)

Notable Playlists

Effervescence (My Top 75)

All 75 tracks listed from #75 to #1. This is a rotating playlist that updates every week. The playlist is locked from Thursday until Sunday - GUARANTEED. Updates can start as early as Monday. This is the best way of peaking for an entire 'first look' at next week's countdown. Positions are not locked in until Thursdays.

Euro 2024 Season

As a football nut, I enjoy a football anthem or two during big international tournaments. This summer it's The European Championships, so, I have cobbled together the best of this year's efforts and some of yesteryear's bona fide classics. Ample cheese and all, enjoy!

Summer Season 2024

The perfect accompaniment to your work day or commute is designed to provide a great soundtrack without worrying about constant repeating songs. The playlist is stacked with great summer music from old and new, from well-known community staples to crackling unheard gems in multiple genres. You're never far from something you know, or something you don't and they're all great for this time of year! The playlist is relevant from Sunday, May 12th, 2024 to Saturday, August 31st, 2024. This contains my Summer Scorchers playlist which is included every year plus anything specifically from this year.

Summer & Euro Season is a cheeky blend of the above two playlists, you know, so things don't get too football-centric but are still included in your summer vibes.

Hi there Maxon!

Nice to see a 4th July takeover with lots of hits of classics made in America.

Also like "Please Please Please" reaching the top and the big gain for "BIRDS OF A FEATHER".

Great chart!
Take care.

If you want to check out my latest chart, here is the link to it:
Sergej's Personal Chart

+ Still need to do my Midyear List for my chart + my Stats.fm ranking for the midyear, will take some time though.

Ahoy, Sergej!

Fireworks and intense heat galore over the long weekend for me. Went camping. The energy is way down now for a back to work Monday morning, but such is life and what can we do, haha!

Both of the specific current tracks you highlighted will be back on July 18th vying for the top spot, I'm sure. Time to bring on the rock and the roll next week though so grow out your hair, get your wrist and headbands on, and let's get, let's get, let's get ROOOOOCKED! 🎸🤘🎵

Thank you as always for stopping by and for your comment and support.

Hi

Great to see Espresso climb 4 places to the runner-up position. Also great to see a massive climb for BIRDS OF A FEATHER! DEVIL IS A LIE getting a debut is nice to see as well!

Great Chart!

Take Care

Ahoy, Cheese!

I figured you would enjoy the 'Espresso' bump this week. Riding the wave of momentum Sabrina Carpenter is going through at just the right time of the year as she's American get's her pair of summer vibes careening up to dominate the July 4th edition of Effervescence. Much the same for 'Birds of a Feather' which has emerged as the people's pick of her new album and as such gaining a lot of favor from me when I was very lukewarm when I initially heard it.

All three of the songs you have highlighted will likely be back on July 18th!

Thank you for stopping by and dropping the comment, sir, it is very much appreciated!

Hey Maxon! :)

Glad to see a takeover of American classics in celebration of The Fourth of July, as well as the debut for 'Devil Is A Lie'.

Good chart!
