Chart

Effervescence - May 23rd, 2024

Welcome along to Effervescence!

Noteworthy cultural notes for this week:

  • Sadly, former Staind drummer Jon Wysocki passed away on May 18th at the age of 53

So Fresh So Clean [Record of the Week] :  Stephen Sanchez - 'Baby Blue Bathing Suit'

A brand new song released on the Friday before the previous chart. I tend to try to listen to whatever I select at least twice daily for the following week.

Hey Maxon! :)

Glad to see the debuts for 'Lunch', 'Lobster Telephone', 'Chihiro', 'Not Like Us' & 'L'amour De Ma Vie'.

Good chart!

Ahoy, Piran,

I have no idea how I did not respond to this. I apologize, I either completely missed it somehow or forgot to hit save or something.

Big gain on the new chart for the latter of your highlights!

I really appreciate you stopping by and commenting.

Hi Maxon!

Nice to see "Honey Boy" again at the top, with "Espresso" closely behind, then there is the big gain for "Million Dollar Baby" in the top 3, "Falling Forever" reaching the top 10, the new peaks for "Forever", "The Sound Of Silence (CYRIL Remix)", "Right Here", "Mountains", "Fire", "Pedro", "For Life", "Without You" and "Take A Bit" and the debuts for the Billie songs, "Drug Worth Doing", "One Cry", "Not Like Us" and especially "Shut Up And Dance".

Great chart!
Take care.

Ahoy, Sergej!

Kind of loving the pure summer vibes of the Top 2 right now. Looking likely to continue to duke it out at or around the top for a bit yet. Appreciate you enjoying so many of the tracks bouncing around throughout the chart this week.

Thank you for stopping by and dropping the comment!

Ahoy, Maxon! I haven't forgotten about you.

The good memory on #68 "It's Been Awhile". Glad to see. The one of the best songs from Billboard Hot 100 Year-End charts.

A very unexpected choice of Metallica's songs on #71. I know some songs that didn't entered the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End charts, but written and produced by Bob Rock. For me, it was the best songs for Metallica. And I'm not sure that James and Lars was a composers and lyricists. I think, it is only Bob did that great melodies and arrangements.

Have a good mood to you! I'll be back if I will see another greatest songs from the past. 😁

Ahoy, Alex!

Long time no see round these here parts. I hope you're doing well. I'm not sure why you packed everything up and left but while I potentially have the opportunity to get a message to you I'll say this - Your charts are for you, and that is all that matters. I collection of your favorite songs in an order entirely of your own volition. Try not to focus on whether other folks share your taste or opinions. You do you and always be proud of it. I hope you still have your previous worked saved somewhere as they're also a time capsule you will enjoy coming back to in the future.

'It's Been Awhile' was simply a top of the hat to another loss from music this passed week. It was always a great track though and always good to hear great music regardless of it's age - you know me!

The 'Screaming Suicide' Metallica song made my chart this week due to its presence as the current #1 song in the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. It came out about 15 months ago. I added it back to my playlist and have been enjoying having it on the rotation enough to present it here. I don't see it as a returning classic so much as some of their early 90s works. I get the impression from your comment you're talking about another Metallica track but I don't think you mentioned which one in the message. Or did I miss something?

As always, I appreciate you stopping by and for your comment.

Happy Memorial Day to you!

Hi! Sorry this is very late

Great chart especially with 3 songs from Billie Eilish's new album, Also great to see MILLION DOLLAR BABY go up 18 spots to number 3!! Great to see Espresso stay at number 2 and Forever go up 2!!

Take Care!

Ahoy, Cheese,

I am late also in responding to you! Apologies.

'Million Dollar Baby' came out of nowhere, didn't it? 'Espresso' retained a Top 2 spot in the new chart too which was released late yesterday.

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. I really appreciate it!
