Week 42
After unsuccessfully beating All Time Low last week, this week Dua Lipa levitates up to pole position with 'Levitating' thanks to the DaBaby remix, giving her her fourth No. 1 single and breaking a record for the most number of weeks (13) spent in the Top 20 before reaching the top, a record previously held by Doja Cat's 'Say So' with 10 weeks.
That means 'Summer Daze (Seasons, Pt. 2)' falls down (get it?) a place to No. 2, while Sigala and James Arthur's hit 'Lasting Lover' holds still at No. 3.
'Dynamite' by BTS may have exited the chart after its first two weeks, but its trajectory seemed to have reversed on its next two. It launches eight places to a new peak of No. 4 thanks to a really annoying advertisement on TV and lyrics spamming on the weekend.
The Top 5 is rounded off with 24kGoldn's 'Mood', which slides down a place, along with Paul Woolford's 'Looking For Me' at No. 6.
This week's highest new entry goes to Linkin Park. 'In The End', a signature track from the band's first album 'Hybrid Theory' lands at No. 7 after the release of the 20th anniversary re-release of its parent album last week.
The Top 10 is completed with Gary Barlow's 'Elita' sliding down a place at No. 8, All Time Low's 'Basement Noise' up a place at No. 9 and Justin Bieber's 'Holy' climbing three places into the Top 10. New entries into the upper half means older songs need to depart. 'Sleeping In' by All Time Low dips to No. 11 while Miley Cyrus' disco-inspired 'Midnight Sky' falls six places to No. 12. By strange synchronicity, both tracks spent a total of six weeks in the Top 10 before falling out.
Further down, Jason Derulo's 'Take You Dancing' rebounds to its peak position of No. 14, while Twenty One Pilots' former No. 1 hit 'Level of Concern' jumps up four places to No. 15 thanks to its never-ending music video. The same cannot be said for the duo's other single 'Stressed Out', which falls out of the Top 20 for the second time this year.
There are also three other new entries at the bottom. The highest of which is Tom Grennan's 'This is the Place' at No. 16, which is swiftly followed by Sam Smith's 'Diamonds' at No. 17. The Top 20 is closed with another album track of All Time Low, 'Glitter & Crimson' at No. 20.
