Well here's something that would've been inconceivable just a year ago: an album bomb from Tate McRae of all people. And this isn't even the biggest album bomb we've ever seen, but it is the first sizable one since SOUR over a year ago now, and it was still enough to wreak havoc on the chart. That being said, none of it was quite able to take over Ava Max, as she continues to hold onto the #1 spot with "Maybe You're The Problem" for the 6th week in a row - now tied for the longest consecutive #1 as well as Ava's longest-running #1. But then we start to see album impact from Tate right below it, with "what would you do?" up to #2, and "chaotic" up big off its debut to #3. This pushes "Cate's Brother" by Maisie Peters to #4, but lastly, we actually have another new Top 5 entry: "Overthinking" by Mabel and 24kGoldn rising up to #5.
We have 4 new songs this week, and they're all from Tate McRae: "go away" at #7, "you're so cool" at #13, "i'm so gone" at #18, and even "boy x" at #24. We also have some pretty notable dropouts this week, as Tate replaces some pretty successful songs from earlier in the year, with "Love It When You Hate Me" which almost became Avril Lavigne's 2nd #1, "Lonely In Love" by Mimi Webb which spent 4 weeks at #1 and is currently #1 on my 2022 leaderboard (although now that it's gone, it won't be up there for much longer), as well as "The Motto" by Tiësto and Ava Max which spent 2 weeks at #1 late last year, all finally making their way off the chart.
