Another week, another album bomb - but this one's a bit...different. Thanks to her recent success on the chart, I went back to explore Chappell Roan's album from last year...and its impact is easily the biggest story of this week's chart. "Good Luck, Babe!" holds the #1 spot for the 4th week in a row, but it's facing competition from her new arrival at #2: "Femininomenon", a song that originally came out in August 2022. This has the potential to overtake the current #1, so watch out for that. Anyways, this pushes Ariana Grande's "we can't be friends (wait for your love)" down to #3, and Olivia Rodrigo's "obsessed" actually holds its position at #4. But this leads to the other big story of this week: "Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl" re-entering the chart at #5. This song was on the chart for a few weeks back in October and originally peaked at #18, but over the past week, I have fallen (back) in love with it. This makes it the highest returning entry in chart history, surpassing Taylor Swift's "You Need To Calm Down" re-entering at #8 many years ago.
Those aren't even the only 2 entries this week either, as we also have "HOT TO GO!" debuting at #8 - this was in Bubbling Under last year but never made it onto the Top 25 itself, and "After Midnight" at #19 - a song I previously was not familiar with. They all replace 3 former #1s, as "All Night" by IVE and Saweetie, "ballad of a homeschooled girl" by Olivia Rodrigo, and "Is It Over Now? (Taylor's Version) [From The Vault]" all make their way off the chart after all reaching the top at some point in their run - the ironic thing about that last one being that the 1989 (Taylor's Version) album bomb was what initially screwed over the current #5 from getting any higher than it could at the time. Funny how that works.
