Hey Sergej! This year was an incredibly strong one for me in terms of albums, as you can probably tell from the fact that the #10 albums still had an 82/100 rating! In fact, all 11 albums on the list make my Top 20 albums of all time! It's great that you like many of them as well, but it's a shame that you didn't like 'beerbongs & bentleys' since it's such a fantastic album, in my opinion. It was also an very strong year for singles, with the Top 20 on this list making my Top 50 of all time. It's great that you liked most of the high-up tracks on this chart, and plenty lower down as well. Thanks for the comment! :D
Haha, absolutely no surprise seeing 'God Is A Woman' at #1, but even though I'm not sure I'd even put in my Top 10 favourite Ariana Grande songs, it's still really good, especially some of the whistle notes she can reach towards the end!
'Camila' getting a score of 96% is amazing! Apparently it was also the best selling debut album by a female artist in the UK this year which made me even more pleased.
'Beerbongs & Bentleys' was definitely the album that was the biggest pleasant surprise for me in 2018, so I like how many tracks from it are here!
I'll hopefully see you tomorrow on the Official Chart Update if you'll be about then.
Yeah, 'God is a woman' was pretty much guaranteed to be #1 after it spent 9 weeks at #1 for me. It's a song that I just never seem to get tired of, and the only song I'd say I like more than it is 'Bloodstream' by Ed Sheeran, and even then it's a close race. 'Camila' did really well for me this year, but it just couldn't beat 'beerbongs & bentleys' with 6 10/10 tracks and 8 in my Top 40 for 2018. Only 1 song from it even manages to fall under 9/10, that being 'Takin' Shots' with a strong 8/10. From the looks of things 'Speak Your Mind' by Anne-Marie was the best selling debut from 2018 in the UK with 164k sales, but 'Camila' did come in 2nd with 125k which is still great. It's my mum's birthday tomorrow so I probably won't be around, but I should be around on Tuesday. Thanks for the comment! :D
So in terms of all-time, where does 'God Is A Woman' rank among those songs & what would be your #1? Did you have a personal chart before Crown Note like Calum & I did?
Are those figures for 'Camila' & 'Speak Your Mind' that you mentioned their debut weeks or their totals? I thought OCC tweeted that the former was ahead on overall sales at the end of last year, but I or they could be wrong, haha.
That's fine, I hope your mum is enjoying her day & I'll see you tomorrow! :)
I actually have an CrownNote chart for my Top 50 Favourite Songs of All Time which is linked at the top of this chart, but 'God is a woman' specifically ranks at #2, with Ed Sheeran's 'Bloodstream' at #1. The figures for 'Speak Your Mind' and 'Camila' are for 2018 as a whole, and I got them from the OCC's article "Top 40 Albums of 2018". 'Camila' was the best-selling debut from an international artist, so that may have been what the OCC were tweeting about.
Oh yeah, I think you mentioned to me once before that 'Bloodstream' set some kind of record in your personal chart! :)
Have you seen the new Official Chart by the way?
Fair enough. I probably just left out the "international" part in my last message to you, haha.
By the way, my new chart will be up within the next hour, but I'll post in the group chat when it's ready. There'll be a pleasant surprise there which I think you'll love!
I look forward to your new chart too.
Yeah, 'Bloodstream' currently holds the record for the longest running track on my charts, since it's been in every single one of my 87 weekly charts. It's also currently the longest running Top 10 hit with 28 consecutive and 32 non-consecutive weeks, though 'God is a woman' looks set to beat both of the Top 10 records as it's currently at 25 consecutive weeks and has never left the Top 5 since it first climbed to #3 on its 2nd week on the chart. I just commented on your comment on the Official Chart, and I look forward to your next chart! :D
