Braintree Top 40

There is no stopping Dua Lipa as "Electricity" stays charged at #1 for the 2nd week in a row. It wasn't even close this week as the Silk City song was the top song of Josh, Emm!e, Emily, and Breagh. Troye Sivan moves up a spot to #2 with "Lucky Strike" while also earning another top 5 with "Dance to This" with Ariana Grande. Elsewhere in the top ten, Alvaro Soler earns his 2nd top ten with "Ella" and OMI gets his first with "Masterpiece" at #9 and 10, respectively. This is Felix Jaehn's 2nd.

The top debut goes to "Paradise" by Ofenbach featuring Benjamin Ingrosso all the way down at #21. Benjamin also sees a new peak of #14 for his song, "I Wouldn't Know". A major chart news is the 14 spot increase for Dua Lipa's "New Rules," which spends a record-extending 36th week on the chart. "One Kiss" also sees an increase to #17 and "Want To" debuts at #38. I wonder who could've put all this Dua Lipa on the chart... *cough Breagh Lipa cough*.

Emm!e has returned to the gym this week and certainly shook up the chart with "Nobody Compares to You," "Eastside," and "Messy" all returning to the charts after a respite away. Emm!e also got "Better Now" to finally debut at #30 as well "Into You" by Fabolous & Ashanti and "Hypnotize by Notorious B.I.G. Daina was not going to influence anything this week until she decided to play a little Braintree Top 40 on the way home from trivia. She ended up helping "Goodbye" and "Happier" reach new peaks of #19 and 20, respectively. Celina kept Kina Grannis in the top five while also giving "Lie to Me" a new peak of #6. Emily stuck to the Braintree Top 40 as that was the only playlist she could download before her data ran out earlier this week. Aside from Dua Lipa, Breagh also played The Lumineers, bringing "Angela" to #39.

Next week, we see new The 1975, Khalid, and Mariah Carey as well as an interesting collaboration between Gucci Mane, Bruno Mars, and Kodak Black that could emulate the #1 hit, "Finesse". We also see the release of new albums from Carrie Underwood and David Guetta. Doesn't seem to be an exciting week in terms of new songs, so it will all be about who can make a push for the top against the behemoth "Electricity". Will Diplo, Mark Ronson, and Dua Lipa get a 3rd week at #1 or will Troye Sivan get this 3rd #1 single? FInd out next week on the Braintree Top 40!
