James' Top 70 - November 24, 2016

8 new entries!

Notes:

  • "Love Like We Used To" stays at #1 for a sixth consecutive week this week. It's starting to drive away from the competition right now and it has a very good chance of holding #1 into the new year.
  • Talay Riley blasts into the Top 10 with "Absence" rising 15-8 for a new peak. This randomly saw a big boost this week and it was among the top performers of the week. It was in a bit of a rut the past few weeks as it was not really able to go anywhere, but this definitely kickstarted it again. This could hit the Top 5 soon.
  • DNCE scores the top debut this week with "Naked" coming in hot at #38. Easily my favorite of the new tracks from their new album, and this could have a bright future ahead of it if it turns into a single. For now, this will likely either peak a little higher or start falling from here. "Body Moves" (6-5) is still very much the single that I'm putting my attention to, so I might not turn into "Naked" just yet. "DNCE" also debuts at #65 this week, looking like a one-weeker for the time being.
  • As "11 Blocks" (9-12) looks like it is going to start falling, Wrabel is looking at another hit soon, as "Ritual" with Marshmello climbs into the Top 50 this week by going 56-49 for a new peak. This should end up being a good hit for them and should see its peak sometime in 2017.
  • Captial Cities make their chart debut this week with "Vowels" coming in at #58. This has grown on me a lot in recent weeks and could becoming a hit for the duo. They never saw the chart with "Safe & Sound", but this is better in my opinion. Maybe a peak somewhere in the 30s?
  • Goldroom re-enters the chart at a pretty solid number this week, as "Lying to You" re-enters and re-peaks at #59. This has been on the verge of coming back the last couple of weeks and a good week like this past week got it a solid re-entry. This could breakout for its second run.
  • Armors also make their chart debut this week with "Overdose" at #64. They are opening for SafetySuit on their upcoming headline tour, so I thought I'd check them out and I like a few of their songs. This debuts and "Genesis" sees On the Rise, but this will be the single I chart. I don't see this doing a great deal; maybe a peak in the 50s.
  • "Get It All" finally makes its debut this week at #66. It's been hanging around the top of On the Rise for weeks now, but it just now is able to score a debut. This probably would have been somewhere in the 50s by now if it had debuted when it first started to heat up, but it will have to look at making up for lost time now.
  • A debut of sorts comes in at #69 this week in "Don't Give Up". The original version of this song, "Don't You Give Up On Me", charted earlier this year and peaked at #67. This has a shot at beating that peak, but overall, this might not do too much better since the original was around for awhile.
  • The final debut this week goes to Moon Taxi with "Red Hot Lights" at #70. This has been around On the Rise for a little while now and is finally seeing its shot. This has the potential to breakout, but I'm not entirely sure where this will end up peaking.
