New (Cam) #1!
5 debuts!
Notes:
- No shocker that Cam pushes another #1, as now "Mayday" takes hold of the ship for its first week on top of the chart. This has the power to take over for awhile, but "HandClap" (#3) is going to be very competitive. Also, SafetySuit is potentially releasing a new single in the coming weeks, and if it's either of the songs they've been performing live, it could very well be a #1 debut. For now, "Mayday" should be able to hold down the top for the next few weeks. Also, this might be my favorite single artwork I've had as my #1.
- As previously stated, "HandClap" pushes into the Top 3 this week, going 4-3 for a new peak. Even with the Top 5 debut last week, it might not be able to hit #1. "Mayday" is going to have a pretty hefty lead next week when "HandClap" inevitably moves to #2, so it's going to have to compete. If the SafetySuit thing becomes true, it can really screw Fitz & The Tantrums out of their first #1 on the chart.
- "Dancing Around It" climbs into the Top 10 this week, going 11-10 for a new peak. This was moving rapidly up until a week or two ago, and now it has come back down to earth. This could hit the Top 5, but its chances at #1 have dwindled down.
- Kaleo has themselves a nice week as "Way Down We Go" moves into the Top 20, going 24-18 for a new peak. This has been a rising very nicely since debuting and should hit the Top 10 in the near future. The songs above it are a bit vulnerable, so it should be a very attainable goal. They also move up with "No Good", as that moves 60-54 for a new peak.
- "MAD AT YOU" explodes this week, as it blasts 38-27 for a new peak. This song along with "Fix" (30-22), have been red hot since their debuts and both should be Top 10 hits, with potential for more.
- "Time Out" continues being the surprise hit of the year, as now it moves 32-28 for a new peak. This was expected to peak in the lower region of the chart, but it has been trucking along to this point. I still have no clue who either artist is, but this still rocks.
- As Cam is holding down the first two positions on the chart, she also scores another Top 40 hit, as "My Mistake" moves up 43-38 for a new peak. This might eventually turn into a Top 10 hit, but for now, its eyes are on Top 30 in a few weeks. Cam keeps her whole Untamed album on the chart for another week, some moving up, some moving down. Next week should mark the end of that though, as there should be another flurry of debuts.
- tobyMac scores his fourth Top 40 hit from This Is Not A Test, as "Backseat Driver" moves up 41-40 for a new peak. He is about to get a fifth next week, as "Move (Keep Walkin')" is one position below at #41.
- Charles Kelley is looking to gain another Top 10 from The Driver as now "Lonely Girl" is starting to blossom, as it pushes 50-43 for a new peak. This got announced as the next single from the album and should start to see bigger activity than what it was getting. Top 20 should be a guarantee for the track, and Top 10 is definitely possible.
- "LA Confidential" has another huge week this week, as now it moves up 53-44 for a new peak. This is starting to come into its own and should be a hit for Tory. It'll aim for the Top 40 next week.
- "Moving On" finally moves into the Top 50, as it goes 52-48 this week, its highest mark since its debut. Its second run has been a bit slow, but it has been moving up most of the time. It might not be able to surpass its #37 peak set back over a year ago, but it should see some upwards movement for little while longer.
- The top debut this week belongs to Parachute, as "Without You" debuts at #55 this week. They charted last year with "Crave", which peaked at #5. This has the potential to do very well and give Parachute a good follow-up to that song.
- Jason Derulo debuts "If It Ain't Love" this week at #56, which is a far cry compared to what I thought it would originally debut at. A lot of good music came out last week, so it sort of got lost in the shuffle. With that said, this should be another hit for Jason on the chart, who has had a good run on here. This is also Talay Riley's third song on the chart, as he was a writer on the track and his vocals are very prominent in the "ooh" parts and the chorus.
- ZAYN debuts his second song on the chart, as "LIKE I WOULD" debuts at #63. This should act as the follow-up to "PILLOWTALK" (23-21) on the chart. This might end up peaking around the same place as "PILLOWTALK", but not as quickly. "PILLOWTALK" is aiming for the mid-teens at the moment, and this could achieve that.
- Kris Allen debuts his first song 2012's "The Vision of Love" (#8), as "Waves" debuts at #64. I've been liking this a lot and this could do well.
- "Don't Let Me Down" is the final debut this week, as it debuts at #66 this week. The one has a shot at exploding next week, as it was rising quickly this past week and debuted without a full week in. This should be bigger than "Roses" (65-69).
